Sniper Elite V2: Remastered announced; V3 for Switch, and V5 officially confirmed

Rebellion Developments has announced a total of four new projects for the Sniper Elite series.

The long-running series will be getting brand new entries coming into this year. The announced was made over a Development Update video released on YouTube put out by Rebellion themselves. The studio wanted to update fans about what’s going on with their team this year and what games they’re working on right now.

CEO of Rebellion, Jason Kingsley, talks to fans directly through the video and thanking them for supporting the company even though they’ve been stagnant for quite some time.

After watching the update video, the first thing he talks about is that they’re working on a  new Sniper Elite game- Sniper Elite 5. The game is still barely started on and very early in dev, so no details will be released until next year. Still, it’s nice to see that they’re working on continuing the game series for fans and that they have something to look forward to.

The video shows off a remastered version of Sniper Elite V2 which will be released with new features, upgrades, and modern hardware. The game will be in 4K resolution and definitely has all the goodies from the previous release, such as the DLCs and the frame-by-frame photo mode for awesome pictures.

The other two announcements were that Sniper Elite V3 will be released to the Switch and that this will be the first time the game series has been on a Nintendo console. the last update is that there’s a Sniper Elite VR project which will be developed with Just Add Water, which you may know as the studio that worked on the Oddworld remastered and Gravity Crush.

For all these titles, there’s no exact release date yet. But Sniper Elite V2: Remastered and Sniper Elite V3 for the Nintendo Switch will be released this year and we can look forward to updates as we approach their release time frames.

For all Sniper Elite fans, it’s a good time to be a sniper.
