Capcom’s Street Fighter V in-game ads removed temporarily

While Street Fighter V has long been the competitive fighter for the genre, one of the most annoying things about the new game is the in-game ads.

Players do receive extra cash for seeing the ads, but fans aren’t really that happy over this new fiasco and tensions have been only getting worse over time. So much that the in-game ads have now been removed for the time being. So gamers can rejoice for now as they won’t be bothered by contrasting ads that can easily take you out of the game’s experience.

They were only introduced for about two weeks and several different variants were used for the ad style costumes and loading screen and stage select have all vanished from the game.

However, as far as we can tell, this isn’t a permanent removal. EventHubs pointed out that the first round of ads was scheduled for a run from December 11-25 to advertise the Capcom Pro Tour. They may appear back in the game on a random schedule.

Game Producer Yoshinori Ono even made a public statement about the ads and took community feedback from the players. They’re likely testing different variants to see what works best for balance.

Street Fighter V is available on PC and PS4.
