Risk of Rain 2 sells over 1M copies, roadmap planned

Risk of Rain from developer Hopoo Games announced that they’ve already sold more than 1M copies.

The indie roguelike launched on Steam’s Early Access program last month has already hit the 7-figure mark. But this was no overnight success. The developer took over 5 years to get to those numbers with their prequel, Risk of Rain. So this as an astounding accomplishment for Hopoo Games.

The game just rolled out, so it’s still in daily development. The devs are having a hard time keeping up on top of player demands, so they’ll have to work accordingly with players to shape the game going forward. They released a Risk of Rain 2 forecast (hah) map, that shows what they have planned for the coming year.

The roadmap shows that there’s a lot planned. Every new update will add new survivors, bosses, and more. Players can also see new equips, and new skills in a “Skills 2.0” release coming this summer which brings the Hidden Realms. Winter will have the Artifacts 2.0 system and the 1.0 launch is next year in the Spring. They’ve got a lot to do and players will have a lot of content.

Plans will obviously change with developments, but so far, RoR2 seems to be favored by the players. Don’t drop the ball, Hopoo.

Risk of Rain 2 is currently available on Steam.
