Battlefield V’s Al Sudan map delayed, DICE needs to polish up

The new Al Sudan map that DICE has planned for Battlefield V won’t be launching with Conquest.

Conquest is one of the game’s most popular game modes, and is the signature map for the series entirely.

However, this time around, DICE has confirmed that the new map Al Sudan won’t be available for Conquest. This was announced following the future announcements with the 4.0 update for the game.

When testing the map, DICE has stated that they’re not happy with the game crashing on Al Sudan during Conquest. They’re currently testing other modes to see if the map can launch on 6/27. So far, we know that the map wont’ be available on Conquest.

At least they’re releasing the map when it’s polished before rushing it out. DICE is no stranger to broken maps, which caused delays for other maps.

Anyone remember the first free map released last year, Panzerstorm? The map had some pretty bad performance problems and was delayed, but DICE was able to remedy the problem quickly.

Al Sudan is based on the single-player map, but perhaps more fine-tuning is required before the map can be released to live players.

We’ll receive an update regarding the map’s status on 6/24.

Battlefield V update 4.0 will also bring other changes, such as rifle grenades, AP mines, and various other bug fixes. Chapter 4 will also roll out with another new map in Greece planned for this summer.
