Blizzard’s WoW Classic premiers in just two days from now on Monday, and they’ve taken some pre-emptive action to prevent server downtime.
Specifically, they’ve launched four more additional servers to their farm to help alleviate the queues they’ll have for sure on launch day. They know their servers will be busy, so they’re taking measure to prevent instability and downtime while they can.
Two additional PvP servers and two normal servers will launch. There will be servers for both eastern and western time zones. Realm servers will launch at 10AM PDT and WoW Classic launchers at 3PM PDT.
Blizzard also told everyone that there’s possible overcrowding on six of their current servers, and has advised players to switch over to the new servers when they go live.
The busiest servers ( Faerlina, Herod, Mankrik, Pagle, Thalnos and Whitemane) will be packed. But who wants to move servers?
“We urge players on realms marked Full or High to plan to play on one of these new realms to avoid the longest queues, and to help spread the player population as evenly as possible,”
The new realms are the following:
- Incendius, PvP, Eastern time zone
- Bigglesworth, PvP, Pacific time zone
- Old Blanchy, Normal, Pacific time zone
- Westfall, Normal, Eastern time zone

I specialize in indie games as I think they don’t get the attention they deserve. I’m just your typical consumer who has some opinions to share. I’ve been reviewing games since I was 12. I started out reviewing them with friends on old forums that now no longer exist. Then I went to online VoDs, which I’ve lost interest in.
And now I’m here to deliver my thoughts in written format!
