Borderlands GOTY will have all DLC, QoL enhancements, minimap

Borderlands: GOTY will be coming out to the current gen consoles next week.

For Borderlands fans and those who’ve never played the game, this is your chance to get a lot for a little. You’ll get a remastered version of the original Borderlands on PC as the GOTY edition, complete with co-op up to four-player co-op split screen on consoles. This isn’t anything new though, even though we recently wrote about the Borderlands announcement.

The GOTY version was already rumored by the ratings board back in 2018. With the announcement at PAX East today, Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox Software released the devil trailer for Borderlands 3. Borderlands Game of the Year edition will have all DLCs included and new weapons with QoL enhancements.

PS4 Pro and Xbox One X owners will get 4K HD and HDR support with texture, lighting, and character model visual enhancements overhaul. Plus add-on content. QoL will be a mini style map to complement the compass, straight from Borderlands 2, which can be toggled on/off.

Some adjustments to the player inventory, junk, tagging, and autoloot are all added. The Shift system rewards returns to use Golden Keys to get stuff like special rewards. Players will have a good time playing this whether they’ve played any Borderlands game before.

Shift users who’ve played the pre-sequel or Borderlands 2 will get free Golden Keys and two random weapons that you can use straight out of the beginning for your new hunter.

Borderlands GOTY will come out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One next week. PC players will get a free upgrade.
