Cuphead’s DLC The Delicious Last Course has received a new trailer showing off some details of what to expect.
Studio MDHR’s trailer reveals some new footage from the Cuphead DLC and a few of the game’s bosses that players will be taking on.
The new playable character, Ms. Chalice, also makes an appearance in the short, half-minute trailer.
The DLC was originally planned for a 2019 release, but Studio MDHR has pushed it back until next year. Although this will disappoint many players who just can’t wait to taste that DLC, they explain that more time is needed so they don’t push out a product that disappoints the fans.
If you remember, Cuphead itself was delayed multiple times until release and was a roaring hit. Now, they just need to do the same with The Delicious Last Course.
They released the following statement regarding the reasoning behind this delay:
“While we initially announced a 2019 release date for the ‘Delicious Last Course’ expansion, our highest priority is making sure this new adventure meets the meticulous level of care and quality we always strive for. We want to be absolutely certain that this next adventure feels at home in the world of ‘Cuphead’ and is full of moments that surprise and delight players. Furthermore, the development of the original game taught us a great deal about the importance of making things in a way that’s healthy and sustainable for our team.
With that in mind, we’re taking a page out of Chef Saltbaker’s book, and spending the necessary time to get the recipe just right – this means that we’ll be moving the release of ‘The Delicious Last Course’ to 2020. This wasn’t an easy decision to make, but we’re confident it’s one that will result in a higher quality experience that’s all the sweeter when it does arrive.”
Cuphead’s DLC will be released on Switch, Xbox One, and PC. Here’s the trailer that was released earlier today:
