Far Cry New Dawn PC requirements released

Ubisoft’s next big game, Far Cry New Dawn, had its PC recommended and minimum requirements released so fans can see what they’ll need to play the game in all its glory.

New Dawn is planned for release next month on the 15 of February, which actually isn’t too far since the latest most recent release. The game takes place 17 years after Far Cry 5 where the lands of Hope County, Montana has been destroyed by a holocaust. The landscape features some really trippy game colors and scenery and some gorgeous artwork judging from the pre-release screenshots, so fans can now see if their PC will hold up to it. But know this: they’re not as demanding as you’d expect.

The game seems pretty well-optimized already based on what I can see:

With just a 4th-gen Intel Core i7 CPU clocking in at 3.6GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 at 3.2GHz, it’s enough processing power to run the game on its recommended settings. 8GB of RAM is pretty much standard these days, with the majority of PCs going over to 16GB.

A GTX 970/AMD 290X (both of which are 4GB cards) will do the graphics processing at 1080P with “high” graphic settings. I think the majority of PC gamers easily meet all these requirements to run the game with a very decent graphical interface.

Raphael Parent, the Tech Director over at Ubisoft Montreal said the following regarding PC specs of the upcoming title:

“We are very proud of what our team achieved with the PC version of Far Cry New Dawn and cannot wait for PC players to discover the post-apocalyptic scenario we’ve created. The bold art direction we have taken for this game is all about a colorful, hopeful, and inviting world, which we know will benefit a great deal from the power of current PC hardware. We hope that players will love the fresh new look of Far Cry New Dawn.”

Far Cry New Dawn comes out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on February 15 and retails for $39.99.
