Left 4 Dead 3 is NOT being developed, Valve confirms

After various leaks and speculations that Valve has finally decided to pull the trigger and put some work into Left 4 Dead 3, a spokesperson came out and debunked every single one of them in just a few sentences.

A few days ago, everything speculating from how the next L4D3 will have VR support to Graylin’s demonstration of the game surfaced the web and fans went crazy.

The thought of slashing through zombies in complete VR was spearheaded by Valve News Network creator Tyler McVicker with this bold statement that “Left 4 Dead VR is real.”

While it may indeed be real and release sometime in the future, the actual game for L4D3 still has no confirmed release date- nor any active development at the moment.

HTC president Alvin Wang Graylin posted a tweet that L4D3 is currently in active development and will be released in VR.

While this is all awesome news for fans that have been waiting for the game, we should note that none of this is official. Even when big players release news like this, Valve has come out today and confirmed that L4D3 is NOT being developed in a statement that read the following:

“We did briefly explore some Left 4 Dead next-gen opportunities a few years ago. But we are absolutely not working on anything L4D related now, and haven’t for years.”
