Lenovo’s new IdeaCentre all-in-one 520 computer has everything the aspiring entrepreneur, business owner, or even employee could want in 2017.
I don’t own one of these, but just judging from the pictures, this is one of the slimmest AIO desktop computers I’ve seen. The box is neatly installed behind the 27” slim monitor and doesn’t stick out from the edges- all elegantly composed on top of a smooth steel stand. AIO computers have taken a rise in recent years, as people are looking for powerful computers that take up little-to-no space. Desk real estate is conserved which means more notebooks, Post-Its, and Red Bulls. Everything you need from your computer is neatly packed into a miniature “tower” that’s either set off to the side or tucked behind the screen (such as in the Lenovo 520). That’s good design if I ever saw it.
It includes everything you need such as a keyboard and mouse (both of which are wireless), speakers, DVD drive, Intel HD graphics (for gaming), a large 1TB 7200 HDD, and a generous screen size. The screen is a 2560 x 1440p display with an upgradeable 10-point touchscreen option available. It also has the latest USB Type-C connection which allows you to stream and even charge your devices from a USB port. For those who want more, it’s loaded with USB 2.0/3.0 ports, SD card reader, audio/mic jack, HDMI in/out ports, and even a basic Ethernet port. These newer USB ports allow up to 10Gbps of data transfer, which is a lot faster than the previous USB 2.0.
It’s powered by an Intel Core CPU (7th Gen) with Intel Optane technology, which means faster, smoother, and better resource handling for all your tasks. With 16GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM, you can power through multiple tasks at the same time. It’s even got an infrared camera which allows you to use Windows Hello to login (this is face recognition technology). It’ll even lock your PC when you walk away.
IdeaCentre computer users speak for themselves. These desktops are praised for their performance and innovative design.
This computer isn’t only built for professionals. Everyday users who want a compact all-in-one desktop should definitely check this computer out.
