An image pack that was scheduled to release from Mojang for Minecraft called the Super Duper Graphics Pack was cancelled because it just didn’t run well enough across all system.
The pack was first announced back in 2017, and Mojang has been working on this since then. But they’ve stated that they’re not happy with how the pack performed across different devices, so they scrapped the pack entirely.
They mentioned that this pack was “too technically demanding to implement as planned.” PC players will still be able to download high-res packs online, but for console and phone hardware, their choices have always been limited.
Mojang has yet to announce any other new packs coming out for Minecraft.
