Warlander, a new action RPG inspired by Metal Gear Rising will be coming this year.
The ARPG will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One later this year by Serbian indie developer Clock Drive Games. They’re wanted to creating their original action game and follow what Konami did. Even though PlatinumGames’ Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was decent, nothing similar has come out since then. Clock Drive Games has confirmed that this new title will come out consoles and will play similarly to Revengeance.
Creative Director Goran Rajsic decided to make it console-only because of how well the previous title played on consoles. They want to create a similar experience for players and admitted that they’re drawing inspiration from Revengeance. They’re trying to bring the same premium experience to players.
Warlander seems to focus mainly on its swordplay mechanics and ragdoll physics engine. There are also some RGP customization elements, skill trees, and various playstyles players can utilize.The game will have some RPG mechanics and smooth combat alongside a lot of replay value, so it’s not really a one-off.
Warlander is slated for PC also, so they won’t be left out. The game will release later in 2019.
