Wargroove has been confirmed to have cross-platform play between PC, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
The game is a turn-based strategy game from Chucklefish and features some very nice artwork with plenty of deep-level combat. You command army units just like any other TBS war game in a battle between a variety of factions. Up to 4 players can play together in the main campaign mode and even in local online matchups.
Whether this will feature player matchups locally is unknown. In other words, it’d be cool if you could join a match with your friends and then have random players fill the missing players. This would allow for some pretty cool games as it’s always more fun with friends.
With support across platforms, there will be a faster queue time when searching for matches. There may also be an option to carry over your profile across platforms, but that’s just a wild guess right now.
Chucklefish annouced on their Twitter account that the game would indeed possess the ability to support cross-platform play:
Sometimes your friends aren't in the same faction as you, and that's okay!
No need to start a war, keep your band together with multiplayer cross-platform play on PC, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, when Wargroove launches on February 1st! pic.twitter.com/Z6svC6MyL7

From what we’ve seen, Wargroove seems to be one of those games that are easy to learn but difficult to master- which is pretty much the ideal way to get into a game. Wargroove will also have a map designer and even custom storymodes by using the in-game editor and customization kit.

Wargroove arrives next week on all platforms and players will be able to play against each other no matter which platform they’re playing on. The game is already available for pre-order and releases this Friday, February 1, on PC, Switch, and Xbox One. PS4 will also get a piece of the action, but the exact date is unknown.

Writer and journalist for almost a year. Doing this for fun. Learned a lot along the way. I’m interested in businesses and the moves they make, tech and how it changes the world, and of course, enjoy playing some video games! I enjoy console and PC, but mostly RPGs, FPS, and League of Legends.
