Bendy and the Ink Machine is celebrating the holidays with a new animated short from “Joey Drew Studios.”
This animation has been released to celebrate Christmas and comes from developer theMeatly and features some of the series favorites. Developer theMeatly’s Bendy and the Ink Machine uses old-school animations similar to Cuphead from Studio MDHR.
This time around, they put out a new short called Cookie Cookin, which makes you kind of think about Overwatch’s Christmas animated short that was released a few days ago.
In the animation, Bendy is seen making some holiday cookies using his face as a rolling pin (to no surprise). The gingerbread man that he cuts out then comes to life and waves to the viewer. Bendy then takes the happy cookie and shoves him into the oven, to which he disappears. Magically.
Then we see Boris eating the cookie out of frame to Bendy’s anger.
The short matches exactly what you’d expect from Bendy and Boris and the animation is spot-on and will instantly remind you of older Disney shorts. While the overall message in this animation is somewhat happy, the actual game is pretty depressing.
For those who aren’t familiar with the game, it’s a survival horror game where you need to return to Joey Drew Studios to find the famous cartoonist’s history and what became of him. This puts you into a world of inky cartoons looking to drag your character into their dark world.
Bendy and the Ink Machine is available on PC, iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One.
