Gearbox Software announced the release date of Borderlands 3 (the official release date) earlier today. During this announcement, they had the game going live on most platforms ready for players to pre-order.
However, one product page had some mysterious unannounced feature for the game. Specifically, we’re talking about Borderlands 3 on the Microsoft Store. The game will have support for co-op cross-platform, which will be across Xbox One and PC as far as we can tell.
Although the Sony and PS4 don’t usually have cross-play with other platforms other than a few titles here and there, this would be a major selling point for PC/Xbox One.
But again, this isn’t confirmed. Borderlands 3 may or may not have this feature on PC and Xbox One. this could be an accident or it could be well-indeed a leak. 2K Games has only this to say about the situation:
“Cross play is something we’re looking at closely, but don’t have anything to confirm or announce at this time,” 2K said in response to the matter.
Borderlands 3 would be an awesome game for cross-play between platforms. Then console and PC gamers could carry games in harmony- possibly. Regardless, this would be a very, very good title to enact this feature.
