Indie game removed from Steam because it’s “porn”

An indie game was removed from the ubiquitous Steam platform because it’s porn.

The game’s called (as appropriately titled) “You Must be 18 or Older to Enter” and focuses on your character trying to watch pornography in the middle of the night- without getting caught by anymore. Your goal is to sneak onto the computer an get your fill with a very slow dial-up Internet connection. Of course, video didn’t really exist in the 90s, so you’re looking for some decent pictures of the naughty-naughty.

It’s not just any porn simulator though, it has a twist.

The game depicts itself as a horror game. Getting caught by your relatives is the worst thing that can happen. It’s dark. The only glow is the blue screen of your computer. You need to get your groove on without having the “monsters” stumble in on you. What a twist, right?

Valve has decided to remove and ban the game from Steam based on what the developers said. It was only there for about two months before it was removed because of pornography. Fans of the game notified the developers over their Twitter page and the devs confirmed it. The game is now gone.

However, if you’re still interested to see it for yourself, it’s still available on itch.io and GameJolt.

Valve’s decision to take this game off their platform stirred up quite a few emotional responses. People argue that there are much more “pornographic” games on the platform that are still playable, so why remove this game? Of course, everyone knows that this game wouldn’t go down silently. Or at least, it’s just wood to feed the fire of those who like to argue just for the sake of arguing these days. Anything can spark nowadays.

If you decide to play it, remember, it’s a horror game. Not a porn game.

Here’s the trailer for it (note: kinda NSFW):
