Mortal Kombat 11 confirmed character list; Time-control Geras new to the series

A bunch of new characters have been added to the roster during today’s live stream of Mortal Kombat 11.

Fans will likely be pleased as many returning characters are coming back tot he game and some brand-new characters that have never been in the series. Today’s live stream was the first time we got an update about MK11 since its announcement back at The Game Awards last year. Only 5 characters were annouced and confirmed during this live stream, but I think fans have plenty to look forward to.

The only character that was confirmed was Scorpion and a “Dark Raiden” variant. Shao Khan is also available, but only for pre-orders. And this was leaked by GameStop, not public news.Mortal Kombat 11 confirmed character list; Time-control Geras new to the series 2

Just like other MK games, there will be a long-running series of DLC. Mortal Kombat X had a total of 33 characters, with 8 new ones that were never before seen. During the live stream, the character select screen features 25 characters and 17 stages to play on. Only 7 characters and 3 levels were shown and everything else wasn’t implemented yet. The game also had custom outfits that were self-created or by other players. Each character had 3 customization options for cosmetic.

These were the characters that were revealed during the live stream:

  • Sub-Zero
  • Baraka
  • Sonya Blade
  • Skarlet
  • Geras

The only new character that’s new to the series is Geras, who seemed to be able to control time and is the “bad guy” against Kornika. Geras has a sweet fatality which pushes the enemy’s back-head to the front-head. Geras is the only new character confirmed for the game.

The game also had a few trailers that featured Kung Lao and Liu Kang. No gameplay footage was shown off for either of them. Kronika will likely be available as a default character and there was also a glance of Kabal. You can check out the trailer in the meantime. Plenty of gore in the official trailer for the game:

Mortal Kombat 11 will release on April 23, 2018 for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and the Switch.
