Nintendo Versus Splatfest: Team Villains beat Team Heroes

Splatoon 2 finished another Splatfest over this weekend with Team Villains beating the Heroes.

For those who are unaware, Splatfest is a weekend competition that pits the best teams against each other with fans of Nintendo Heroes vs. their respective Villains in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The bad guys beat the good guys with a score of 2-1.

Most players chose the side of the Heroes, but the Villains were able to make up for the loss of players by simply getting more victories against the heroes for the majority of both Normal and Pro matchups. Players who want more Super Sea Snails can look forward to the FrostyFest event with players this time choosing Friends vs. Family.

Splatoon 2‘s major content updates are pretty much done at this point with a patch coming this week and a new Kensa Collection which was announced earlier this month. Nintendo seems to be now switching their focus for SSBU rather than the now dated Splatoon 2.

However, SSBU did have some nice overlap with Splatoon as a whole, featuring a new Inkling fighter and the Squid Sisters who appear as Assist Trophies (especially with that glitch going around that dupes the trophies).

Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are Switch exclusives and thus the connection and overlap between the games make sense.
