No Man’s Sky multiplayer is going into another beta round. This time it’s for the DRM-free distributor GOG.
The GOG version of NMS has seriously been lagging behind the rest of the world in terms of updates compared to other platforms. GOG has only received parts of the game’s major updates earlier this year and missed a ton- especially the multiplayer update as a cornerstone feature to the game.
GOG has actually offered players refunds for the game because players were upset. Hello Games’ lead Sean Murray promised that the feature would be released later this year, and now, it’s finally here. Pretty much as late as can be.
No Man’s Sky for GOG is now officially in beta and features a working version of the Next update, the fourth major update tot he game. NMS launched two years ago to a very rocky start, but updates have fixed that issue for some players. Updates included multiplayer, in-game avatars, new camera angles, and rebuilt worlds and elements. New options were also added that change the look and gameplay. The game has come a long way.
“We’re happy to let you know the multiplayer mode for No Man’s Sky on GOG.COM has entered beta. It’s available now via GOG Galaxy on the “Experimental Multiplayer” beta branch and will be rolling out to everyone soon.”
The Next update has been available on GOG, but not the multiplayer component and players are upset.
Hello Games continues to update the game with community feedback with new missions, base customization, and other fixes. They’re constantly adding tot he game and updates are always free.
No Man’s Sky is available for 50% off at GOG retailing at $29.99 at the time of this writing as part of their Winter Sale promo. You can also get it for Steam, Xbox One, and PS4.

I specialize in indie games as I think they don’t get the attention they deserve. I’m just your typical consumer who has some opinions to share. I’ve been reviewing games since I was 12. I started out reviewing them with friends on old forums that now no longer exist. Then I went to online VoDs, which I’ve lost interest in.
