PS4 firmware 7.00 update beta testing underway

The new PS4 update to firmware version 7.00 has started with beta tests for select users.

Sony sent out a bunch of beta invites to select users to test out the new firmware update. The main feature is that the maximum number of players per party is now 16. Other features include bug fixes, voice chat quality, and UI improvements.

Another update fixes the PS4 restarts every time an update completes. This means system updates will automatically be added after downloaded without needing a system reset.

The codes are required to test out the new update, and each code can be used up to 20 times. This means you can hand out the code to all your friends so they can try out the beta test. They can party with you to join in or use Share Play.

Currently, there’s no ETA for the firmware 7.00 to go live yet.
