Bethesda will be releasing its new expansion Isle of Madness for The Elder Scrolls: Legends on January 24, 2019.
They’ve been making headlines this week with the announcement of their expansion for ESO, Season of the Dragon. And now they’re releasing another important expansion for The Elder Scrolls: Legends (their card game) titled Isle of Madness which will release on the 24 of January. This expansion will come to all versions of the game and a new trailer released today shows off what to expect from this pack.
Isle of Madness has a father on a journey to save his son on the Shivering Isles. This eventually leads him to the Daedric Prince of Madness. There are a new Double Card feature and two new lane conditions- Dementia and Mania.
Double Cards contain two cards in one package that can be played at once. After being drawn, this card will split into two cards that compose it, which will give players different strategies for the cost of one. The new lane conditions also add some new interesting facets to the game, such as lane damage for the owner of the most powerful card in play or having the card with the highest HP drawing additional cards.
These are all new mechanics to Legends which should make things interesting once again. Sparkypants too over the development of the game about a year ago from Dire Wolf Digital and the game has been somewhat stagnant since then. But with the release of this expansion, we should see some new strats roll out with the new gameplay mechanics.
You can pick up a copy of Isle of Madness for $19.99, and pre-ordering will get you a Prince of Madness card back and a title of “The Shivering.” You can also pre-order a premium expansion for a whopping $50, which will get you premium playsets of all 55 collectible cards, card backs, and a “Master of Madness” player title.
The Elder Scrolls: Legends is available for PC, iOS, and Android. It’ll also be ported to PS4, Xbox One, and the Switch this year.
