Xbox January 2019 Games with Gold (GWG) announced

Xbox’s January 2019 Games with Gold (GWG) lineup has been announced and I’d say we’re off to a good start (after a so-so December).

The new month starts in just a few more days and Microsoft has already announced their 4 new titles for January 2019. It’s a pretty decent lineup featuring the following games:

  • Celeste ($19.99)
  • WRC FIA World Rally Championship ($49.99)
  • Lara Croft: Guardian of Light ($14.99)
  • Far Cry 2 ($19.99)

The highlight of the month is Celeste, which was one of 2018’s best indie game surprises. The game will free from the 1st to the 31st. The other Xbox One game is WRC FIA World Rally Championship, which will be available from January 16 to February 15.

As for the Xbox 360 games, Lara Croft: Guardian of Light will be free for download from January 1 to the 15th. And Far Cry 2 (which I’m most excited for), will be available from January 16 until the last day. Far Cry 2 is considered to be one of the worst games in the series by many, but for those who haven’t played it yet, it’s your chance to see what people are saying- for free.

Remember, the Xbox One games require a subscription to play, but the 360 games are free to keep even if you don’t have Xbox Gold.

Overall, January is a strong pack of games to start off 2019.

Happy Holidays, Microsoft.
