God of War has now sold over 10M copies. That’s nothing to scoff at.
The press release from Sony confirms the sales numbers to date since the game’s release in 2018.
CEO and Sony President Jim Ryan showed off the sales data during the 2019 corporate strategy meeting. Ryan provided a look at Spider-Man on the PS5’s hardware, and it looks glorious.
Although these numbers aren’t as voluminous as Minecraft, for a PS exclusive, they’re pretty amazing.
He then spoke about God of war selling 3M units within the first three days, followed by 5M within the first month. This makes the game one of the best-selling PlayStation games ever made that are exclusive to the console.
Fans and critics both have positive reviews and things to say about the game, and the game was nominated for many awards. God of War has also scored multiple Game of the Year awards from multiple publishers.
These sales numbers for God of War just go to show how much of a player base there truly is for this game, not to mention the Sony stunt of pushing out a special edition God of War PlayStation console to make the most of the game.
Those numbers are just staggering.
