Minecraft has now sold over 176M copies across all platforms worldwide.
Microsoft and Mojang have come together to announce the staggering numbers of their blocky adventure game. Over the last 10 years, the game has sold 176M copies now.
Minecraft took the world by storm when it was in its peak, and even though interest has waned over time, there are still millions of active players. The game is now on nearly every platform out there, from console to mobile devices to PCs. The PC version sold over 30M copies total, which is a rare accomplishment for any game out there.
Minecraft takes one of the top 3 spots on the list of best-selling games of all time. In history.
The game has now been ported to nearly every modern device in existence and continues to sell. Mojang has some big plans for the game, heading into VR now, so that the game is still going strong.
Minecraft players still have plenty to look forward to going into the future, as Mojang continues to release updates and free content for the game.
There have also been other Minecraft games announced, such as Minecraft Earth, which was announced earlier today.
