A new report from Kotaku was released, and this report states that Watch Dogs 3’s setting will take place in London.
This isn’t a surprise to many followers of the game, as this rumor has been speculated for years now. According to Jason Schreier of Kotaku, Watch Dogs 3 will be going to the UK for its next entry. Now that we have some confirmation from Mr. Schreier, this makes this rumor pretty much a confirmation.
The article discusses that the new Assassin’s Creed game has a viking backdrop and based on Ubisoft’s history of putting references to their next project, this makes sense. At the end of Watch Dog 2’s ending, there’s a scene where some references were made about the London location in the UK. Schrier also notes:
“A new patch for Watch Dogs 2 also dropped a major clue for Watch Dogs 3, telling the world the new setting would be London (which it is).”
Ubisoft did the same with their other game, Pioneer, which was referenced in Watch Dogs 2. The game never made it to light, but this just goes to show that this is their style.
Regardless if the game was launched or not, the main argument is the remake from Schrier in the where he basically “confirms” the London location by saying “(which it is).” This key phrase with the rest of article just goes to show his confidence in the new location. When you put it all together into one quote, it makes a lot more sense.
Ubisoft hasn’t stated when the game will come out and hasn’t’ said much of anything regarding the game yet. Gamers are probably more anxious to know when the game will actually release rather than the location. This kind of information will have to wait until E3 if anything.
