Star Ocean: First Departure R will be coming to the PS4 and Switch in HD.

Star Ocean: First Departure R remake confirmed by Square Enix

Square Enix has announced and confirmed a remake of Star Ocean: First Departure R.

This remake will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and PS4. The game will a complete remake with an HD recreation of First Departure R.

Developed by tri-Ace and published by Square, this game was released back on the Famicom in Japan back in 2996. The game had decent success and was then ported over to the PSP, again in Japan, in 2007.

Star Ocean: First Departure R never was released in the US until 2008. And that was the first appearance of this game, other than using region-lock bypass setups.

The game features three protagonists who are looking for a way to cure a virus when they’re encountered by a space federation over a huge warlocked entity with another power in the galaxy.

First Departure R definitely isn’t one of the more popular Star Ocean games, but people will finally be able to relish in what they missed in a recreated high def texture adventure.

The game will also have some extra content, additional features, and of course, the revamped graphics for this remake.

Fans of the Star Ocean games will be hyped up to possibly get a chance to experience this entry for the first time, or at least take a walk down memory lane in HD.

The announcement by Square had many fans thinking about if they’re going to remake one of the more popular Star Ocean games, like Till the End of Time.

We should take what they’re offering us now. I’m pretty sure sales numbers will determine future remakes. Plus this is definitely not a bad title at all.
