Only a few days after Bethesda’s unveiling of the premium Fallout 76 lambskin leather jacket that retails for $300, fans are already beating it up. Hard.
After all that the company has been through- a shaky launch, the 500 Atom refunds, cheap nylon bags, and all sorts of other bad business practices, fans have been extremely paranoid and doubtful about the company after those screw ups. Hackers didn’t help, either.
Now that they annouced a very expensive jacket advertised to fetch “premium” materials, fans have cast doubt over this business practice and are questioning the actual integrity (and material) of the jacket. Memes have surfaced the web with the most ridiculous and hilarious representations of what the jacket actually entails after you buy it:
The jacket was first annouced on their Twitter account and is made with real lambskin leather with a premium bag to go along with it (not again!). A lot of players accused Bethesda of saving the bags from the Power Armor Edtion of the game and using them here for their jacket. The PA Edition ran a cool $200 and fans were only shipped cheaped nylon bags. So that’s where all the bags went.
The product will be available on the Bethesda Store. The product page advertises the jacket with the following product description:
“The best outerwear for exploring the wasteland of West Virginia. The Fallout 76 Leather Jacket is crafted from real premium lambskin leather”
And the product features:
- Original custom neck label issued from the vault
- Black leather 76 patch on front
- Metallic gold 76 appliqué on the back
- Asymmetrical back seam, metallic gold piecing and bicep arm pads all inspired by the Vault Suit
- Metallic gold hardware including a custom bolt zipper pull
- Adjustable cuffs for the wrists
- Lined in silky, shiny taffeta fabric
- Comes packaged inside a Fallout 76 garment bag
