Sunset Overdrive may be coming to PC; ESRB rating confirmed

Sunset Overdrive may be coming to PC; ESRB rating confirmed 1

While the majority of Microsoft first-party titles are on Xbox One and PC, Insomniac Games’ Sunset Overdrive is one of the few titles that never made it to the PC. Xbox One owners are just fine with the decision, but PC players are missing out on one of the more popular titles published by Microsoft.

However, the third-person wacky shooter may be finally coming to the PC. Gematsu reported earlier today that Sunset Overdrive has been rated by the ERSB for PC. The game was rated M for Mature, just like on the Xbox One- which is to no surprise.

While ratings leaked from Taiwan and Korea are often duds, an ESRB rating is basically confirmation that Sunset Overdrive will show up for the PC eventually in some way, form, or shape. A PC version was rated by the Korean Game Ratings Board back in May which only further solidifies the event.

Insomniac Games’ recent release Marvel’s Spider-Man has shattered sales records, so porting the game from Xbox One to PC may be a safe bet for their next project to keep the momentum going. They also may be bringing other Marvel games to consoles and PC. Many PC players haven’t experienced the Microsoft-published Sunset Overdrive yet, and when it comes to PC, they will. Even if it’s limited to the Microsoft Windows Store, players will likely be picking up a copy.

We’re not sure when Microsoft will unveil the PC port but hang tight for an announcement. Microsoft is holding XO18 soon, and that’ll be a perfect place for an announcement. They’ve recently revealed that they want to bring Xbox Game Pass to PC, their $9.99 a month library of rotating games which has fared well on Xbox One. Considering that Sunset Overdrive is part of the library, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it becoming available on the PC.

Sunset Overdrive is currently available for the Xbox One. You can check it out on Amazon. Or if you prefer to play the game with a ton of other titles, you can grab a Game Pass from Amazon.

Streamer Johnny_Now about to complete 30 days of being locked in a cage

Streamer Johnny_Now about to complete 30 days of being locked in a cage 2

A Twitch streamer under the handle Johnny_Now is almost done with his 30-day challenge of being locked in a cage. We wrote about his feat earlier when he was just starting, and now he’s about to complete his challenge.

A 30-day feat in a confined area with only access to his computer and a supply of basic necessities provided by a helper in an attempt to cure his addictions is about to be completed. He’s writing a book to document his progress entitled Into the Cage: Freeing Yourself Within. He believes this process is a self-improvement program which will help him stop his addiction like junk food and soda.

You can watch some popular clips here and here.

He’s “hopelessly addicted to food” and “hopelessly addicted to sugar.” He believes that securing himself in a small human hampster-like cage just may help him be free from his vices. He turns to imprison himself to break free. He plans to change careers before his “next adventure.” He also appeared on Rajj Patel’s dating show but had a tough time with the girls on there.

Johnny has not confirmed that the cage will be unlocked on November 2, 2018, at 9 PM ET. He’ll have a part surrounded by his friends. Hopefully, he doesn’t relapse during this party.

You can also keep up with Johnny’s progress here.

Xbox Live Games with Gold – Battlefield 1 and Assassin’s Creed

Xbox Live Games with Gold - Battlefield 1 and Assassin's Creed 3

This month’s lineup of free games for Xbox Gold members is a decent one- with three AAA titles and one indie game. The marquee titles this time around is Battlefield 1, which is now free and even had the Premium Pass for free many times before.

The games are as follows:

  • Battlefield 1 (base game)
  • Assassin’s Creed
  • Race the Sun
  • Dante’s Inferno

DICE has been very generous as of late probably to get players hooked and ready for Battlefield V, which is just around the corner and players have been excited about the game.

Assassin’s Creed (the original) is also available this month and has changed so much in the past decade. Gamers can revisit the first game ever made in the long-running list of entries to experience where it all came from.

Dante’s Inferno is the next game on the list- a God of War-like action RPG with tons of hack-and-slash combat and difficult yet epic battles.

Last on the list is Race the Sun, an indie endless runner.

Battlefield 1 will be available to XBL Gold members for the entire month, with Race the Sun being available in the second half alongside Dante’s Inferno. Assassin’s Creed will be available alongside BF1– all in time for Thanksgiving.

Thank you, Microsoft. This lineup is pretty decent compared to the recent months. Perhaps they’ll

New titles coming to Xbox Games Pass; Sniper Elite 4, Sheltered, and more

New titles coming to Xbox Games Pass; Sniper Elite 4, Sheltered, and more 4

Microsoft has now announced a new batch of games which will be coming to Xbox Game Pass to start off the month. Xbox Game Pass is a subscription-based program that offers a rotating library of games for $9.99 a month. You can think of it as the Netflix of Xbox.

The most noteworthy title coming soon is Sniper Elite 4– which is the most recent entry in the series which was released just last year in 2017. The other games are indie skateboarding game Olli Olli 2 XL Edition and the post-apocalyptic game Sheltered. Lastly, Rise and Shine and Grip: Combat Racing will be the final additions.

Microsft has said that these titles won’t be the only game hitting the program as they have some hidden surprises to reveal during XO18, which will be shown off in a special edition of Inside Xbox during XO18.

This is a lot of good news for Game Pass, as it’s obvious Microsoft is trying to promote the program aggressively. With special entry offers and even rumors that they’re incorporating the service for PC gamers, it must be very profitable. Though we’re not sure when this will take place, we can keep our eyes peeled for an announcement at XO18.

Fallout 76 won’t be coming to the Switch – Not “doable.”

Fallout 76 won't be coming to the Switch - Not "doable." 5

Bethesda has been kind to Nintendo recently by releasing major titles on the Switch. Games like Doom, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Skyrim, Doom Eternal, and what more could you ask for? Doom Eternal will even be available on the Switch on launch day. But Fallout 76 won’t be ported to the Switch.

Bethesda Marketing Executive Pete Hines at PAX Aus said the following statement:

“The Switch is something I can say with certainty that it’s a part of every conversation with every dev we have now about what we’re doing going forward because we consider it to be a viable platform. If the game will work on it, we want it to be on every platform possible. Fallout 76 is not because it just wasn’t doable. But honestly, there is no game in development that we haven’t had a conversation about. ‘Does this work on the Switch, do you have a plan for the Switch?’ It’s not a mandate. Everything we do has to be developer-led, but it’s something we want to make sure is on folks’ radar.”

He also clarified that Bethesday will follow the money, and the Switch is where it’s at. He also said the following:

“You go where the money is because that’s how you stay in business. What we have seen compels us to say, ‘[Switch] is a viable platform for the kind of things we do going forward.”

Bethesda wants to be on the Switch if possible, but not all the games they release can be ported to the Switch. The previous games have been doing well for Bethesda, but the Switch just won’t be “doable” this time around. Perhaps sometime in the future they can port some older titles over and make them profitable once again. As for Fallout 76, the Switch won’t be getting a release at this time.

Resident Evil, RE: 0, and RE: 4 coming to the Nintendo Switch

Resident Evil, RE: 0, and RE: 4 coming to the Nintendo Switch 6

Capcom USA announced a new trio of Resident Evil games for the Nintendo Switch. The tweet stated that a new slew of titles will be ported to the Switch throughout 2019, with more information about the games coming soon.

The titles are as follows:

  • Resident Evil
  • Resident Evil 0
  • Resident Evil 4

These titles will be joining the already released Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 on the Switch that are already released to the console representing the most popular horror franchise of all time. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will also roll out on the Switch in Japan via streaming.

Resident Evil was the game that launched the whole zombie horror genre and defined the genre, arguably, for the PlayStation way back in 1996. The original game was given a remastered re-released in 2002 for GameCube. The game is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Resident Evil 0 is the fifth main entry in the long-running series and serves as a prequel to the original Resident Evil. The game was released for GameCube initially and was given an HD remaster and released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The remastered of RE: 0 and RE are also available as the Resident Evil Origins Collection of specific consoles.

Resident Evil 4 is probably the best of the series and the most popular with all-star Leon Kennedy. The game helped bring the series back to the survival horror genre that Capcom strayed from. Released in 2005 for GameCube, it was later ported to the PlayStation 2 and was also ported again and again for later generations. The game can be played on basically every console besides the 3DS- even mobile devices.

Capcom hasn’t said anything about the upcoming 2019 remaster of Resident Evil 2 for the Switch at at this time. Stay tuned for some spooky details.

New Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown trailer released; Skill trees, customization, and VR

New Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown trailer released; Skill trees, customization, and VR 7

Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe released a new trailer for Ace Combat 7: Skies Uknown that features a bunch of new aircraft customization options. The video shows off the new aircraft tree, which seems to look similar to a skill tree found in many games you’d see today, such as RPGs and shooters.

The F-140 fighter jet demos being purchased using AC7‘s in-game currency. Then the jet was shown in action firing off the 8AAM air-to-air missiles that were purchased in the aircraft tree. The AC-130 was also purchased in the trailer and shows off the vast amount of customization options for weapons. Everything from choosing a jet, missile types, and body/arm styles for the fighter jet. Then, some skin emblems are shown that can be unlocked by completing some challenges- without the need for microtransactions!

Ace Combat 7: Skies Uknown will include a free copy of a previous Ace Combat game depending on the console you buy it on. The game also has a VR mode that was delayed for an announcement, but has now been confirmed for the game.

The game will release for PS4 and Xbox One on January 18 and February 1st for PC via Steam.

Kingdom Hearts III will be playable (again) at XO18 8

Kingdom Hearts III will release next year on January 25th for PS4 and Xbox One. XO18 launches next month with a special episode to show it off planned for November 10th on Xbox’s own program- Inside Xbox. Vampyr confirmed for Nintendo Switch

Vampyr confirmed for Nintendo Switch 9

After Vampyr‘s somewhat successful launch back in June of 2018, Focus Home Interactive has announced today that Vampyr is now planned for a Nintendo Switch release via an earning’s report for their company. The game was positively received on consoles and was regarded as a fresh breath of action RPG gameplay.

Vampyr was originally released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Focus Home said that plans for Q3 of the publisher’s fiscal year include taking the game over to the Nintendo Switch. The action RPG’s developer said the following statement that can be found in the report:

“In Q3, the Group will continue to maximise the potential of the Vampyr licence,” said Focus Home in the report. “After the game’s impressive success on PC, Xbox One and PS4, it will be Nintendo Switch’s turn to welcome the DontNod title to reach an even wider audience.”

At this point, no other details of when Vampyr will release on Switch has been announced but based on the Q3 report, it’ll likely be available sometime later this year, as this makes up Q3 2018. There should be news regarding the game soon enough. It’s likely just a port rather than a Switch version with exclusive Vampyr content.

Focus Home will announce the details soon. Stay tuned for updates regarding the game.

Overwatch launches “World Cup Viewer” tool for World Cup Series

Overwatch launches "World Cup Viewer" tool for World Cup Series 10

Overwatch, the world’s most popular arena shooter, has officially launched its world cup series kicking off next week with a Top 8 bracket. Blizzard Entertainment, the world-renowned developer and publisher of games like Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo, and World of Warcraft, announced a new tool that allows fans to watch the Overwatch World Cup in a number of different ways.

The tool is simply called the Overwatch World Cup Viewer. A new developer update video that was released a few days ago has game Director Jeff Kaplan talking about what the Cup Viewer does and how it can help enhance overall entertainment for eSports Overwatch fans.

Viewers can take control of the in-game camera and watch the gameplay from a variety of different angels like first-person and third-person. Players essential become their own broadcaster instead of having someone else do it for them. This will allow a free cam that can be used to watch the game- pretty much a spectator mode for viewing the game.

Players can even slow down the shots with slow-mo and even access an overall map which displays HP, location, and Ultimate status.

The Overwatch World Cup Viewer will have a beta release during the Overwatch World Cup semi-finals and grand finals at BlizzCon 2018. Kaplan says that the tool will be available for PC players only, but eventually may be used on consoles depending on the usage and future of Overwatch- with the game becoming a competitive force in the eSports world and used in home copies of the game as a basic setting.

Overwatch will begin the official world cup next week with a Top 8 bracket. The game is available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. You can get more details about the Overwatch World Cup Viewer here and try it out for yourself soon enough.

And you can learn more about the tool here in this dev update video from Overwatch and get some commentary about the tool and how it was created and developed:

Tropico 4 and Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy added to Xbox One Backward Compatibility list

Tropico 4 and Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy added to Xbox One Backward Compatibility list 11

This month will ring in two new titles for the Xbox One Backward Compatibility list. The two titles are pretty random and have no logical reasoning behind them- at least from a consumer’s perspective.

Usually, when games join the list, there’s some logic to it. For instance, last week’s additions were the entire Crysis series going backward compatible on the Xbox One. And the week before that, the older Tomb Raider games were added.

But this week, Xbox gets Tropico 4 and LEGO Star WarsII: The Original Trilogy. If either of these games tickle your fancy, you can now play them on your Xbox One as they’re the newest games to join the party of backward compatible games.

LEGO Star Wars II joins the LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, which was already part of the list and makes no logical sense. Tropico 4 marks the first Xbox 360 era Tropico game that’s been added to the Xbox One.

Regardless, Microsoft has been coming through with its Xbox One Backward Compatilbity list, which is leagues ahead of Sony. This may be why Sony is filing for backward compatibility via emulation for the next-gen PS5.

No Man’s Sky Halloween update “The Abyss” coming soon

No Man's Sky Halloween update "The Abyss" coming soon 12

Hello Games just released their biggest update for No Man’s Sky earlier this year with the NEXT program. This was the update that brought the game back on track and earned the gameplay hours from fans that previously exited the game. Next week, Hello Games announced that the first titled update following NEXT will arrive next week and will be related to the timed holiday event- Halloween.

Hello Games’ Sean Murray announced a new update called The Abyss which is completely free for No Man’s Sky that brings a “handful” of members at Hello Games to the table. They’ve been working on this update for a while and it’ll go live next week across all platforms. Murray said it’s just one small step in the larger content plans they have for NMS.

He hinted that it’ll be related to Halloween:

“Focuses on some of the eerier elements of No Man’s Sky, in keeping with the theme of this season.”

There’s no confirmed date as for when The Abyss update for No Man’s Sky will go live, but we’ll hear from Hello Games regarding the patch sooner or later. You’ll find details about it here as soon as it goes up.

The update will be free for existing players and will be out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Just looking at the update art gives it away that the patch will be something dark and scary with the neon lights and background. But what the update contains, we’ll have to see next week. Stay tuned.

Jade Raymond leaves EA; Samantha Ryan taking over

Jade Raymond leaves EA; Samantha Ryan taking over 13

Jade Raymond, one of EA’s most recognizable names has left the infamous publisher yesterday. Raymond was the studio head and founder of EA Motive and she was revealed to be stepping down from her position.

She previously worked for Ubisoft and helped create Assassin’s Creed games and founded Motive Studios back in 2015. Since then, the developer has helped with Star Wars Battlefront II and Visceral’s Star Wars project before they shut down. Right now, Motive Studios is working on an unknown title.

EA released a statement to Game Informer regarding Raymond’s departure from the company and mentioning that Samantha Ryan will be taking over as Motive’s head of studio to fill Raymond’s previous position:

EA Studios is focused on bringing more creative new games and content to players. Laura Miele and her team have taken several steps internally to better support our game makers in this pursuit, such as expanding Samantha Ryan’s portfolio to lead additional studios, including Motive. Samantha is known for driving creative design and supporting game teams so they can bring their visions to life. She is a deeply experienced game-maker with a gameography that spans from The Sims to Batman: Arkham City to No One Lives Forever to the highly-anticipated Anthem.

With this change, Jade Raymond has decided to leave Electronic Arts. In her time with us, Jade helped to build great teams, and our projects underway at Motive and other studios continue unchanged. We’re appreciative of all of her efforts, and we wish Jade all the best as she moves on to her next adventure. We are driving greater creativity into everything we do across EA Studios, and we’ll look forward to sharing more in the months to come.

Right now, Raymond hasn’t announced what she plans to do next as a  public statement of her own. Stay tuned for updates regarding Raymond’s future plans- provided she announces them publicly.

Agony UNRATED confirmed for Switch; Details for UNRATED version released

Agony UNRATED confirmed for Switch; Details for UNRATED version released 14

Agony UNRATED was being teased for a few days and has been confirmed for release on October 31st, which is perfect for a game like this. The Kickstarter page went live yesterday with all the news and details regarding the game’s update.

The UNRATED version will be free for all backers. Backers will also receive the game two days prior to release. Agony owners will get a 90% discount for UNRATED, as reported by Madmin Studio, which is both the publisher and developer. They wrote the following on their Kickstarter page:

“We are aware that the premiere of our first game was disappointing for many players, as numerous technical errors and censored content effectively distracted from the game. We would like to apologize for the mistakes we made and to compensate players for a long time waiting for the UNRATED version, making it available at a significantly lower price.”

There were some legal issues the game developer was having earlier regarding a contractual obligation. Now, they seem like they’re in the clear.

Here are some features to the UNRATED edition that you get:

  • Improved character models
  • New enemies and threats
  • Deep character development system
  • New lighting system
  • New environment – the Forest
  • Tons of fresh, uncensored scenes
  • World map and minimap
  • Technical improvements

Agony UNRATED will only be released on the PC and Madmind will consider console release depending on sales. This is because the game is an “AO” rated game, which retailers won’t carry, thus the need for sales. A Nintendo Switch version will be released in 2018 and will be ported by Ultimate Games, however.

Fortnite’s Pumpkin Launcher returns for Fortnitemares

Fortnite's Pumpkin Launcher returns for Fortnitemares 15

One of the earliest limited time weapons ever released for Fortnite is finally coming back to Fortnite Battle Royale for this Halloween season. The Pumpkin Rocket Launcher is on its way back to Fortnite for the first time in a whole year. The first release of this weapon was back in October of 2017, and now players have a chance to pick it up again once more.

Eric Williams, Design Lead for Fortnite at Epic Games, hinted that characters will get something pretty nostalgic if they remember the sound effects. He tweeted a message that only old-school players who were playing Fortnite since last year’s Halloween event will understand:

Both the “thoomp and WAAAH” sound effects were symbolic of the Pumpkin Launcher. Players who played during that time will remember that this is the weapon that started a whole rocket riding trend in the world’s most popular Battle Royale game with players standing on rockets due to its whacked-out area of the collision which exposed a bug in Fortnite.

The weapon will be released as part of the Halloween event going on in Fortnite, called Fortnitemares. Players will get a limited number of days to get limited cosmetic items, modes, and map changes. You can check out a post by Epic regarding the schedule for Fortnitemares here. Players who’ve played last year will get the feels once again.

UK gaming magazines GamesMaster and GamesTM shutting down

UK gaming magazines GamesMaster and GamesTM will print their last issues on the first of next month. Future, the global multi-platform media company that publishes brands like PC Gamer, Kotaku, Xbox The Official Magazine, PlayStation Official Magazine UK, and more, has announced that GamesTM and GamesMaster are no longer being published due to sales.

GamesTM has been printed since 2002 and was originally owned by Image Publishing before they were bought out by Future. GamesMaster has been running for 25 years since 1993. The two magazines will be halted and the staff will be reassigned.

Future announced in a press release:

“Despite the company’s strong performance overall, unfortunately games™ and GamesMaster are no longer profitable parts of the business, which means that their next issues, on sale November 1st, will be the final editions,”

“The decision was an extremely difficult one, but everyone here is enormously proud of what the magazines have achieved in their lifetimes – an incredible 25 years in GamesMaster’s case – and we are currently deploying affected staff within the company.”

GamesMaster posted the following tweet:

UK readers will definitely be upset over this announcement. However, it’s nice of the publisher to assign the editors to other magazines and positions to keep their influence within the company.

Ace Combat 7 shows off two new gameplay videos

Ace Combat 7 shows off two new gameplay videos 17

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Missions 06 and 07 have shown off some new gameplay videos that show off the first half of each mission and the mission briefing. Fans of the long-running series are stoked about this, as there hasn’t been a new Ace Combat game in a long time.

The video for Mission 06: Long Day shows the gameplay in a desert where you need to attack a Erusean base. The F/A-18F Super Hornet is rendered in glorious detail fully loaded with AQQM missiles and some 360 degree visuals to show off the plane before takeoff.

There’s some convos between you and your squad as you’re prisoners forced into this mission. Do fans get some backstory about the game. The player also spends a lot of time in low-flying areas so there’s a lot of dangerous flying about. The visual detail is superior to all previous AC games.

As for Mission 07: First Contact, the mission brief tells you how useless you are as a convict. Your goal is to help your allies escape by destroying enemy towers, radars, and AA turrets in a mountainous valley. You get to use the F-22A Raptor and the same set of AQQM missiles.

The area is cloudy as the weather has an overcast on the mission area. There will be clouds, light rain, and other various weather distractions making your mission slightly more difficult. You’ll see a cutscene mid-mission where drones attack and a thunderstorm also can screw with your UI.

For any Ace Combat fan, the gameplay of Missions 06 and 07 has gotten a lot of attention. Fans seem to be praising the game so far from the comments in the video and grateful for the nostalgia this game has brought them over the decades and glad that this game is making a return.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will be released on January 18, 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One. PC players will get their hands on the action-packed plane fighter sim on February 1st. Pre-orders will get a remaster of Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War for PS4, and Xbox One pre-orders will get Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation.

Sleep Tight may be coming to Europe; Developer We Are Fuzzy teases on Twitter

Sleep Tight may be coming to Europe; Developer We Are Fuzzy teases on Twitter 18

Developer We Are Fuzzy released their first game called Sleep Tight a few months back. Sleep Tight is a twin-stick arcade shooter that was only released in North America due to a limited budget.

But We Are Fuzzy may be porting the game over to other regions soon- with Europe in its sights currently.

The news was announced on Twitter, with a nonchalant tweet saying that they’ve got nothing to announce other than they’ve been seeing a bunch of “EU shop requests” and they’re working making it happen. Fans of Sleep Tight have been asking for a release of the game in EU for a while and a PS4 and Xbox One version. We Are Fuzzy stated that they have some a “very exciting announcement coming soon” for fans who’ve been waiting.

Sleep Tight is a fast-paced twin-stick shooter game with an old-school top-down view but with modern graphics and artwork. We Are Fuzzy is an indie developer who you’ve probably never heard of, but that doesn’t mean the little engine can’t try. Sleep Tight was released on July 26, 2018 and is currently available on Nintendo Switch and PC in North America.

Call of Duty: Blacks Ops 4 will get its first major patch today

Call of Duty: Blacks Ops 4 will get its first major patch today 19

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be getting its major update today, when it’s just one week after its very successful release that shattered Activision’s day one sales records. After a launch like that and continued community feedback, Treyarch will be scheduling a new update today with some changes to the hottest game on the market right now.

The game sold more than $500M in just three days on the market, which made it the best-selling game on launch in Activision’s history.

Treyarch announced on Twitter that they’ll stabilize, remove, and change some aspects and features across all game modes on BO4. There will also be a special double XP weekend, starting today to celebrate the game’s first week. The specific modes where this event takes place is still yet to be announced. Zombies mode should use the double Neulium Plasma to their benefit so they can buy extra Elixirs.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. We’ll cover the updates to the game after the first major update. See you post-patch!

Dota 2’s Treasure Update shows drop rates for loot crates

Dota 2's Treasure Update shows drop rates for loot crates 20

Dota 2’s new treasure update will now show drop rate percentages for loot boxes. Valve is changing the way loot boxes and disclosures work in the game with players able to see in-game percentages before they buy. This is nothing new, as many games are now required to show this information in many countries worldwide.

Valve’s latest update for Dota 2 will show the exact chances of getting rarity loot, all based on the number of keys you buy. More keys mean more chances of getting the loot, to no surprise.

Countries globally have been enforcing these kinds of laws. Blizzard Entertainment recently took out loot crates for Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm. Developers have also announced many times that their games won’t contain any loot crates. Dota 2 is just another domino in the long line of games starting to feel the heat.

Besides the changes in Dota 2, there are some other updates tot he game. Dota Plus subs will get access to new a perk that allows them to recycle unwanted treasures for treasure fragments. Once six are collected from the same drop, an extra copy of the treasure and 2K Dota Plus cards will be given.

Players will now also be able to shuffle their item sets for each hero during matches.

You can get more information about this update here at Dota 2’s page.

Here’s a trailer showing off the awesome paint job:

The Switch Diablo bundle will launch on the same day the game rolls out- November 2nd. But then again, this is just for EU players. The game will be a port to console from PC back in 2012 and will obviously include extra content for the Nintendo market.

There were also rumors that the game would feature cross-platform play between the consoles, but that was later debunked by a Blizzard representative.

Here’s a screenshot of all the goodies included in the bundle:

The addition was released with today’s version 6.10 update. Each tourney will have players that start out on the same tier, and competitors scoring points through their final placement during matches or by getting kills. Matchmaking will pair players based on skill- sort of like MMR- but it’s not.

Here’s the official announcement by Epic:

The new update also added a rocket launcher and a new trap called the Chiller. There’s also the Discom Domination limited time game mode, so check that out for some laughs.

The game will also be competitive across platforms, so it doesn’t matter what your platform of choice is, you can play competitively against any other (or same) platform. Game balance was a concern since obviously some peripherals are known to give the benefit during matches, however, Epic issues that based on their observations and research, the controller and keyboard are on-par.

Regardless, you can now play with others in tournaments across all platforms. Fortnite is settings the standard for cross-platform play.

PS4 users forced to factory reset system after seeing glitched message

PS4 users forced to factory reset system after seeing glitched message 25

PlayStation 4 users are having a problem with their consoles where it gets frozen and are forced to do a factory reset after getting a prompt from the console. Users are advising other players to set their messages to private after receiving a message on their console. When it’s viewed, it freezes the entire system and requires a complete wipe to get it working again.

The message can’t be deleted from the console dash or the mobile app, but mixed reports surfaced on the web. This bug was found on Saturday and has yet to be fixed. Reddit users are reporting the problem all over the PS4 subreddit:

“Even deleting the message from the mobile app doesn’t work. It happened to me during Rainbow Six: Siege. A player from the other team used a dummy account to send the message and crashed my entire team. We all have had to factory reset. Only one of our guys wasn’t affected and he has his messages private. Do this ASAP to prevent this from happening to you.” (Via Huntstarck on Reddit.)

Setting messages to private will prevent getting this message that locks up your machine- just to be safe. Sony hasn’t reported or announced anything about this problem just yet. Stay tuned for some quick updates on this system-breaking bug.

For Honor hits 15M players; Marching Fire DLC details

For Honor hits 15M players; Marching Fire DLC details 26

For Honor was one of those games that only did lukewarm upon launch. Sure, it has a player base, but the game didn’t have that level of virality that most were expecting.

The game has been offered for free on PC and Xbox- multiple times. We can easily guess that this is to get more players into the waning game’s player base.

However, these efforts may have finally paid off. Ubisoft’s current game lineup does include some very popular titles, like Rainbox Six Siege, which has built up over 30M players from release until now. Today, they revealed that For Honor has hit 15M total players since its launch back in February 2017. Comparing just these two games, For Honor actually seems to have done very well.

Only a year and a half later, the game already has half the total players of RSS, which is one of their more popular titles released in 2015. But then again, For Honor was offered for free many times already whereas RSS has always been a paid title- unless I missed a promotion somewhere along the lines.

Ubisoft Montreal developed both games with the help of a few other studios during development and upkeep over time. 15M players is still very impressive, even when you have to give the game away to get more players in. Now, the game’s servers are more populated and it’s likely that they’ve established a bigger active player base with all their promotional attempts.

For Honor: Marching Fire is an upcoming update which will add new game modes, such as a 4×4 breach mode, Arcade mode, and various other quality of life improvements. Players will also get a new faction called the Wu Lin, which is a group of martial artists who mastered eastern combat. There’s a new trailer that previews some of the new features coming out in Marching Fire (attached below).

For Honor is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. And For Honor: Marching Fire releases on October 16th.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey goodies: Free AC3 Remastered, DLC, "enhanced" versions 27

As a bloody revolution draws ever nearer, your clan is threatened by a powerful group seeking to crush the American Revolution and control the thirteen colonies. Shocked into action by the devastation of your village, you pledge your life to the cause of freedom, and embark on a decades-long quest to achieve it.”

The base game will also have special enhancements (via Ubisoft):

  • Higher resolution textures

  • Benedict Arnold Missions DLC
  • Hidden Secrets Pack DLC
  • Tyranny of King Washington DLC
  • Assassin’s Creed: Liberation (base game)

Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 HD are now Xbox One backward compatible

Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 HD are now Xbox One backward compatible 28

Two new games made the list of Xbox One backward compatible titles. And they’re magnificent.

Both Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty HD and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD are now officially playable on the Xbox One and Xbox One X. If you have the physical copy of legendary titles, you can plug them into your console and start another epic espionage adventure. Both games were released as a set as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, which was released in 2011.

A tweet by Larry Hryb “The Xbox Guy” sparked the news:

This set is the second HD collection released by Konami that made the Xbox One backward compatibility list within the past few months. The other collection was the Silent Hill HD Collection which becomes available for backward compatible play back in July.

Now that Konami has two sets of HD collections available on the Xbox One, players can get those nostalgic feels once again. And for players who’ve never played- you now have a chance to redeem yourself on playing Konami’s top-tier games.

You can see the full list of backward compatible games here.

Funny how this news comes out just after yesterday when Solid Snake (David Hayter) told Vinny of Vinesauce to “squeeze my hog.”

David Hayter as Solid Snake tells Vinesauce's "Vinny" to "squeeze my hog." 29

David Hayter, a voice actor known for his work as Solid Snake from the Metal Gear series has done something spectacular to please his fans. He’s always had a sleek and cool demeanor towards his fans, as you can see from his Twitter account, has honored one of the Metal Gear community’s ridiculous requests.

This time around, he says the line that was popularized by Vincent Jabroni (AKA Vinny). Vinny, a popular Twitch streamer and founder of Vinesauce, received the following line from Hayter:

“Vinny, this is Solid Snake. I’m told that you play a lot of Metal Gear games, and that you’ve devleoped a joke of telling Raiden to ‘squeeze your hog.'”

“So, I only have one thing to say.”

“Raiden, squeeze my hog!”

This was apparently paid by Twitter users Lorelei and Round of Apology. The phrase “squeeze my hog” was made popular by Vinny through his stream. After Vinny heard the line, he laughed and made some remarks. You can see the event in the attached clip here.

Vinny did make sure that the line wasn’t coming from an inappropriate standpoint:

“It wasn’t gross, like I wanted Raiden to squeeze Snake’s hog, like yeah.”

“No, it was much more innocent than that.”

Hayter did have a pleasant time reciting the line, even if it was paid for. He found some humor in it and you can tell because he had trouble holding down his laughter. Vinny laughed simultaneously at that portion of the clip. Vinny replies:

“He’s got a good sense of humor about himself.”

This meme has now been solidified on the interwebs and is forever a part of Metal Gear history. The clip has gone viral with over 220K views at the time of this writing.

Ninja reveals his thoughts on the most underrated weapon in Fortnite

Ninja reveals his thoughts on the most underrated weapon in Fortnite 30

Ninja was playing his usual session of Fortnite on Twitch (not surprising), and he talked about his thoughts on the most underrated weapon in the entire game.

He was facing off with an enemy and he chose to use the Epic rarity of the Dual Pistols. He shot two bursts and easily killed his opponent. Then, he carelessly remarked:

“Dualies might be the most underrated gun in the game.”

Whether his opinion matters in the Fortnite weapon meta or not, he is one of the top and most popular Fornite players in the world. He wiped out his enemy rather quickly and killed him off with a clean round of shots from his Dual Pistols. They offer accuracy even at long range and offer decent damage with fast firing speeds to boot.

The pair of handguns were first introduced to the game in the V4.5 update, which consists of a pair of Rare or Epic Pistols that are equipped simultaneously and allow the player to shoot both at the same time with one shot. You can check out the clip here.

However, the Pistols never became “meta” with the players. Most top players prefer SMGs as the secondary to their main weapon, which is usually an assault rifle. Ninja did show off a tact of skill in the clip, but it’s likely not enough to sway many players to work them into their loadout.
