Fortnite Deep Freeze bundle available now; Physical copy, exclusive cosmetics 1

The new Deep Freeze bundle for Fortnite will get you a physical copy of Fortnite Battle Royale, which has been known to be extremely hard to find nowadays. But the Deep Freeze bundle will get you a nice hard copy of the game (as a sentimental souvenir) to keep forever to remind you what was once the world’s most popular game. There’s also a digital version available on all platform store.

If you decide to snag yourself a physical copy of Deep Freeze, you’ll get four exclusive cosmetics and a bunch of V-Bucks. Fortnite was previously available as a physical disc before the battle royale mode was even developed and the game was just PvE. Nowadays, if you want to get yourself a disc, you’ll be paying about $400 on eBay for a pristine copy.

This new Deep Freeze bundle will run you $29.99 from major retailers or the in-game Fortnite store with 1,000 V-Bucks (worth $10) and cosmetics valued at about $20. Considering that this bundle itself will also be hard to find, later on, it’s worth the price. Even if you already own the game and you’re just looking to collect the physical hardware so you can display it in your room.

The cosmetics are seasonal as we head into the coming winter (in real life) and given the name of the bundle, they’re all about ice. All items are exclusive to the bundle and you can get your V-Bucks that fans will go buy the bundle just for the cosmetics and not the game.

Here’s what’s included in the Deep Freeze Bundle:

Deep Freeze Bundle

  • 1000 V-Bucks
  • Legendary Frostbite Outfit
  • Legendary Freezing Point Back Bling
  • Uncommon Chill-Axe Pickaxe
  • Uncommon Cold Front Glider

Jump in to Fortnite Battle Royale with the Deep Freeze bundle. Guaranteed to keep you warm on the battlefield, despite its chilly name!

You can buy theDeep Freeze bundle now on Amazon, at any major physical retailer, or buy from the Fortnite online store.

Bethesda posts warming “thank you” letter for the creation of Fallout 76

Bethesda posts warming "thank you" letter for the creation of Fallout 76 6

With the explosive launch of Fallout 76 just two days away on November 14, Bethesda Games posted a very emotional letter (posted below) on their Twitter account with a Fallout-themed photo.

The letter isn’t really a promo material, but rather a “huge thanks” to everyone at Bethesda and ZeniMax and to all the fans who helped give community feedback during the Fallout 76 BETA. It’s basically an opening credit to the game thanking everyone who took part in the development of Fallout 76 and their proud heritage of creating epic games.

The final paragraph of the letter mentions that they’re going to build future content for Fallout 76, which is a given whether it’s in the form of DLC, expansion packs, season passes, or just plain free content for the game.

New “features” will also be added like Vaults, character respecs, gear, quests, and even a freakin’ faction-based PVP system, which is the one thing I’m most excited about after reading this letter. This may be what Pete Hines was referring to in regards to the game lasting “forever.”

With the BETA program completed, community fired up, and the game ready to launch in just under two days, this is truly an exciting time for both fans of the series and Bethesda themselves for such an accomplishment.

Fallout 76 will be the ninth entry into the Fallout series and the first ever online-only Fallout game for PS4, Xbox One, and PS4. The game’s Day One patch will be larger than the actual game, so a pre-load may be handy. You can pre-order it on Amazon here.

The letter reads as follows:

“It’s with great excitement that we’re finally launching Fallout 76. A Fallout game unlike anything we’ve done. Really, it’s a game unlike any we’ve ever played.

It’s been our privilege and passion to build games that transport you into new worlds and new experiences. With Fallout 76. we’ve woven together parts of our past Fallouts, the survival genre, and massive online games, to create something unique. A game where you share in the story, and the struggle to survive, with your friends, with strangers, and with us.

A huge thanks to everyone at Bethesda and ZeniMax who supported us in making this game. Creating a new style of game has taken the best from not just our own producers, programmers, artists, and designers – but great efforts from across the company. Special thanks to our friends at ZeniMax Online, id, and Arkane who helped us. And thanks to everyone in publishing, IT, Bethesda.Net, Customer Service, Admin, and our incredible partners in QA.

And a special thank you to all our fans who participated in the BETA, with your help we’ve made the game better each week. And this is just the beginning. We have an incredible list of updates we’ve begun work on, from CAMP building improvements, new quests and events, new Vaults opening, character respecing, a faction-based PvP system, and much more.

We hope your journey in Fallout 76 is as fun and as rewarding as it was for us to build it. We can’t wait to see where the country roads take you.

All our best,

Bethesda Game Studios”

New Kingdom Hearts III Tangled trailer released – Rapunzel’s still herself

New Kingdom Hearts III Tangled trailer released - Rapunzel's still herself 7

Kingdom Hearts III is the next AAA title that Square Enix has been developing for years now. Many fans have been waiting for over a decade since the last entry into the series- mainline entry, that is.

With the game rolling out in just a few months from now, Franchise Director Tetsuya Nomura posted a tweet stating that the development team has a ton of work to do- so much work that he had to miss out on Italian Lucca Comic and Games 2018. This tweet came directly from the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter account:

On the plus side, fans get a new Kingdom Hearts III trailer to watch. Nomura urges fans to watch it saying that it’s a “special trailer for everyone” and pleads us to “please watch!”

The new trailer this time around focuses on the Tangled universe, which is known as Corona. Familiar characters like Sora, Goofy, and Donald are seen roaming about and then run into Flynn Rider and Rapunzel.

This is the first time Tangled has appeared in a Kingdom Hearts III trailer and gives fans something to drool over. The trailer is completely polished and looks like something straight from the game (probably it is?). Tangled was first revealed to be in KH3 back before E3 2018 during the Orchestra’s Encore World Tour.

The trailer later was shown at Square’s E3 Press Conference and during the Ratatouille presentation.

The LUCCA 2018 Tangled Trailer gives fans plenty to be excited about. The animation, artwork, and character personalities are exactly what we’ve been hoping for and are reminiscent of the previous titles. Rapunzel’s character is ecstatic and full of energy, while Flynn and Sora are sarcastic and somewhat annoyed- just like we expected!

Kingdom Hearts III releases here in the West on January 29th, 2019. The eastern release is set for January 25th- just a few days earlier. The game will be available for PS4 and Xbox One. You can pre-order the game on Amazon. In the meantime, check out the newly debuted trailer here:

Diablo Immortal is a mobile game – And fans are not pleased

Diablo Immortal is a mobile game - And fans are not pleased 8

At BlizzCon 2018, Blizzard announced another branch of their Diablo projects they’re working on called Diablo Immortal. And guess what? It’s a phone game.

Fans were obviously not pleased as most mobile games are just full of microtransactions and don’t offer close to the immersive experience you can only get on a PC monitor or TV. The announcement trailer for the Diablo phone game garnered about 1.4M views, but has close to 295K dislikes at the time of this writing. That’s a lot.

The Diablo subreddit has also shown their disdain for the game as a “slap in the face” as they were hoping for something else- like a PC or console game. Fans are unhappy. And that’s a fact. Even with the bare minority that may appreciate this, the majority are rather frustrated and didn’t expect a phone game.

Allen Adham, Executive Producer, and Blizzard Co-Founder, along with Dan Eggren, the Production Director, came out in an interview with Polygon and talked about the project some more. With all this hate towards Diablo Immortal, they had to step out and clarify the situation. You know it’s important when someone high up the ladder has to come out with clarification.

Adham says during the interview:

“We have said that we have multiple Diablo teams working on multiple Diablo projects and that remains true, even after releasing [Diablo 3 for Nintendo] Switch and announcing Diablo: Immortal,” Adham said. “We still have multiple Diablo teams working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects. Diablo is a tentpole franchise for us. And it always will be. We love it. We hope our fans understand what we’re saying when we say that.”

So this should quell some fears fans have. Just some. But not by much.

He’s basically stating that there are multiple Diablo projects in the works and a phone game is just one of them. He wants to capture the younger generation globally who use a phone to play their games and deliver the Diablo experience:

“The world is evolving both geographically and demographically,” he said. “Younger folks now, many of them, mobile is their primary gaming device. And then around the world in many regions, it’s their primary gaming device, and so it’s always been our aspiration [to bring games to them].”

The community wanted something to follow up to 2012’s Diablo 3. That’d be ideal. Adham believed that once fans finally get the mobile experience, they may change their mind about the whole scenario:

“We definitely feel that playing is believing, and we definitely value our fans. We feel that they’re passionate about the franchise … and they put their heart into it just as we put our heart into it. And we hope that as they get opportunities to see people play, see more of the gameplay, they’ll see that passion that’s in this game… What we see is anybody who actually holds it and plays it feels great about it.”

Blizzard has been telling fans to just try the game, but fans seem reluctant to even do just that. However, we’ll see what other projects Blizzard appears to have up their sleeve regarding one of the world’s most popular action RPGs. And we’ll see how fans react to Diablo Immortal soon enough. Sit tight for updates from Blizzard.

Viral Reddit video shows just how dangerous attack dogs are in Black Ops 4

Viral Reddit video shows just how dangerous attack dogs are in Black Ops 4 9

The most threatening enemy in BO4 so far isn’t another player- it’s the freakin’ attack dog.

This year, the holds aren’t a joke only appearing during a scorestreak, but rather can be called in by the Nomad specialist periodically throughout each match. The dogs can literally wipe out an enemy in a single bite and also have a ton of HP to back it up. Players have tried to hide from them rather than kill them. But that doesn’t work too well.

A video uploaded by Reddit user Meltron77 shows off just how dangerous these vicious attack dogs are in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. This user tried to hide in the balcony on the outer edge of Summit, but the only way up to the platform is the ladder, which would seem like a safe spot from any dogs, right? After all, dogs can’t climb ladders.

But, it seems like they don’t care whether there’s a ladder or not when you can jump. The dog walks around the platform and then jumped a huge feat on the platform to kill its prey with a small window for it to kill the dog before it could goal out and unleash its single bite of terror.

Though this is probably not intended to be programmed into the game, it’s still funny, and lethal, at the same time. This may be patched later on by Treyarch, as they’ve already been on a patching craze with not 1, 2, but 3 updates in a row. They’re doing some work alright.

The dog can jump huge distances, so be warned. Call of Duty fans should have to kill it rather than trying to run- because this video (which has already garnered tons of attention on Reddit with over 4.5K upvotes at the time of this writing) shows just how lethal the new attack dogs are this time around in the game.

Black Ops 4 is the latest entry into the long-running Call of Duty: Black Ops series and is the first game to not have a single-player campaign and debuts Blackout, which is CoD’s version of battle royale. The game is available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can pick up a copy on Amazon.

The game will also be a Doorbuster special from Target for $45 based on an early Black Friday ad they released.

Treyarch releases (another) update for Black Ops 4: Hitching, Blackout draws fixed

Treyarch releases (another) update for Black Ops 4: Hitching, Blackout draws fixed 10

Treyarch has announced yet another new update for BO4 today, November 1st.

With so many updates in a row, it’s like they’ve been working nonstop around the clock since the game was released just about 3 weeks ago on the 12th of October. The last major patch was on October 30 (V1.04), which was the largest update so far in its short history. There was also a minor update on Halloween that updated game settings for PC and enabled players to buy stuff with CoD Points on the Black Market.

Today, another update was released that focused on major issues that players have been facing. The full patch notes weren’t releasd this time around, but Treyarch posted a new tweet that annouced some major changes coming with today’s update. This is Treyarch’s third update for the game.

Xbox One players have been saying that Blackout was unplayable due to hitching issues. This update addresses those problems and allows them to play the game a little smoother so they can be the last man standing in Call of Duty’s version of battle royale.

Also, the bug that caused Blackout games to end in draws was fixed in this update- though this isn’t exclusive to Xbox One players. All versions had this bug and it’s now been corrected.

The full patch notes for the November 1 update will be posted when we get confirmation.

Call of Duty Points (CoD Points) now live on PS4 – Here’s what you can buy

Call of Duty Points (CoD Points) now live on PS4 - Here's what you can buy 11

Call of Duty Points (CoD Points) are now live in Black Ops 4. They can be purchased using in-game interface or via the PlayStation 4 Store. The currency is currently only available on the PS4 and will debut on the Xbox One and PC later on November 7th due to the 7-day exclusivity agreement Sony has with Activision.

CoD points can be used to purchase Special Orders or buying tiers of in-game events like Operation: First Strike. They can be used in two ways at the moment and will likely expand to fulfill other purchases later on. There are currently two Special Orders on the Black Market, which are Bombero (800 CP) and Covert (500CP). They include a series of cosmetic items like skins for weapons and outfits.

Call of Duty Points (CoD Points) now live on PS4 - Here's what you can buy 12

Special Orders are just temporarily in the Black Market and will be on rotation to be replaced with others, so act fast if you’re interested in getting the rewards. Players can also use their CoD Points to buy tiers in Operation: First Strike to unlock was offered in higher tiers sooner rather than griding out the hours.

Each tier costs 100CP and all tiers must be bought in order. Players must buy all of the locked tiers that come before each tier, so the cost will increase exponentially. Tier 200 from Tier 1 costs 20K CoD Points.

The max tier of the First Strike is 200, and additional tiers will show afterward. Players need to work their way up the tiers to unlock the “hidden” tiers- up to 250 with 25 at a time.

Players can buy CP with real-life cash in-game or via PS Store. All CP leftover from the previous Call of Duty games can be transferred to BO4 and all players who bought the Blacks Ops Pass will get 1000 CP with 300 Nebulium Plasma. Players who bought the Digital Standard Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition, Digital Deluxe Enhanced, Pro Edition, or Mystery Box Edition will get their extra CP in-game with various amounts.

Treyarch is a little late with the CP going live– but better late than never.

Capcom has “high expectations” for Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5

Capcom has "high expectations" for Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5 13

Capcom released its financial reports for the first half of 2018 and all seemed like positive results so far. Profits grew over time even with the closure of Capcom Vancouver and the project they were working on. Capcom’s Digital Contents division saw a 70% year-over-year increase in H1 earnings with net profit going up 97% due to many titles being successful throughout the year.

Thus, Capcom’s Early 2019 releases Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5 yield “high expectations” from the company. Capcom is having a good year and is hoping to end it out with two strong releases and re-affirmed the fact that all of its previous titles performed well, like Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. The Japanese company said that some games were successful due to a “dedicated fan base and strong brand capabilities” with others seeing “robust sales owing to its consistent popularity.”

Devil May Cry and Resident Evil are no expectations for Capcom- both have strong fan bases and are expected to sell very well. The titles were positively received when demonstrated at the Tokyo Game Show last month.

Resident Evil 2 releases for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on January 26th, 2019. And Devil May Cry 5 releases on the same platforms on March 8th, 2018. Capcom is expecting both games to do very well, and we’ll see how it meets their expectations soon enough.

Fortnite data miners uncover a “Bunnymoon” costume

Fortnite data miners uncover a "Bunnymoon" costume 14

Data miners are on a roll with Fortnite. First, the mining of a possible gifting option for Fortnite. Now, another Fortnite skin has been revealed ahead of its official release into the game.

Pretty much like any other major Fortnite update, a long list of skins and cosmetics are leaked and spread all over the ‘net in a viral craze. During the V6.20 update, a list was compiled and a few skins were on it that struck some interest. A new skin called Bunnymoon was found in patch 6.20, but only the name was found.

As you can see, the costume is certainly a weird one.

A user called Blackopbeast34 has then uncovered what the name is tied to- it’s a bunny suit with the whole ears and rabbit outfit complete together in one packet. And it’s Uncommon. The skin follows the Halloween Fortnitemare theme as previously laked skins that were found with the previous patch.

Epic Games hasn’t confirmed whether these leaks are real or not, but they’re expected to show up in the shop soon enough.

PlayStation Online ID change testing live; Bugs, warnings, and fine print

PlayStation Online ID change testing live; Bugs, warnings, and fine print 15

Select PSN users have already begun getting emails containing their voucher to join the PlayStation Network Online ID change service preview that’ll go live with the System Software update version 6.10 for the PS4.

But for these early guinea pigs, there’s a ton of fine print. Some of the notable defects include changing your PSN Online ID not matching your games on PS4, PS3, and PS Vita not supporting the name change. Players may lose access to content, including content that was paid for like in-game currency and DLC, save data, leaderboard data, and trophy progression.

This comes straight from ResetEra where a user named Azdoune has posted this information to the public. Users can revert back to the original Online ID, but only once during this review period. Users have already reported some name change problems during this testing segment, but that’s what it’s for.

Other PSN users will get to change their ID when the testing is complete in 2019. The name change has been a long-time requested feature for the PSN for years and was just recently confirmed by Sony.

The details of the PSN Online ID change can be seen here:

PDP announces exclusive Super Smash Bros. Ultimate GameCube Controllers

PDP announces exclusive Super Smash Bros. Ultimate GameCube Controllers 16

PDP is releasing Nintendo Switch GameCube Controllers that’ll arrive just in time for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The exclusive controllers will feature Mario, Zelda, and Pikachu and will arrive November 23th, which is just before the game’s release. Most SSB fans will agree that Super Smash Bros. Melee with a GameCube controller is meta and probably the best SSB experience you can get, therefore it makes sense to release SSB-themed GameCube Controllers for the next Smash entry.

Nintendo formally announced their own first-party Smash Ultimate edition of the controller, while peripheral company PDP has already announced pre-orders for their own GameCube controllers- that are wired.

Players can choose between the three characters to duke it out on their next-gen console.

PDP also talks about how the C-Stick on the pad can be swapped out for a full-size version for personal preference so players won’t have to feel worried about wearing out their C-Stick like in the Wii U days. The controller features a full 10-foot cable and old-school grip for an almost near replica of the GameCube Controller.

They’re priced for $24.99 on Amazon with a release date on November 23rd. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will roll out on December 7th on the Nintendo Switch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 – Get a free Pack-a-Punch weapon

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - Get a free Pack-a-Punch weapon 17

Black Ops 4‘s Pack-a-Punch weapons are pretty much necessary for reaching the higher rounds of Zombies. In Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the Zombies in the later waves show no mercy and any player who’s experienced it firsthand will tell you stories. Pack-a-Punch weapons are a necessity later on but are rather difficult for players who are just starting to play Zombies.

The IX Zombies map has a secret trick that anyone can perform to give you a Pack-a-Punch weapon as soon as Round 3 and it doesn’t require the Pack-a-Punch machine.

Here’s how to get a Pack-a-Punch weapon:

First, you’ll need to launch into a game of Zombies on the IX map. Use filters to find a game suitable.

Then, you’ll need to unlock your banner. Do this by walking over to the rolled up banners immediately when you spawn. They’re to your left.

Melee the rope holding the banner and it’ll unroll. You’ll then be presented with a new challenge. The challenge will be a random one, but pretty easy such as killing zombies with grenades or using your specialist weapon.

When you’re done, go to the altar in the middle of the map and you’ll get an extra life. Then a second challenge will activate. Complete it also.

Then, repeat the process again and you’ll be presented with a free Pack-a-Punch weapon. Complete the third challenge and go back to the middle of the arena and a Strife will be waiting for you. The upgraded Strife will have full auto and special damage to be used as a backup weapon in later rounds.

The nice thing about this backup is that you’ll be able to take down more zombies with ease.

Here’s a video that demonstrates how to get a free Pack-a-Punch weapon in detail by Zombie player GregFPS:

Fortnite Battle Bus moves faster with V6.10 update

Fortnite Battle Bus moves faster with V6.10 update 18

Fortnite’s Battle Bus doesn’t really get too much attention, but it looks like now Epic Games is doing a major update to the Bus with their latest patch to the game.

Fortnite posted a tweet to let fans know that the Battle Bus will now travel a whole 25% faster than previously when flying.

While the Bus has gone through some minor updates here and there, this is the first time when it’s gotten praise directly- and in a tweet. Players have gotten some special ballons for the game’s anniversary and the ability to even thank the driver, but now with faster movement speeds, this will only add for more fast-paced action. This update affects gameplay because the speed adjustment will affect the game ever so slightly.

The update was announced just a single day after Epic Games detailed the new changes to Fortnite in its V6.10 update, which also was featured alongside other major changes like map adjustments and the new vehicle: The Quadcrasher.

Meet Fortnite’s new vehicle: The Quadcrasher

Meet Fortnite's new vehicle: The Quadcrasher 19

While the most popular battle royale game in the world certainly excels at many things (that’s why it’s so popular), it does have a few things missing- namely a huge selection of vehicles.

Fortnite does have its own variety of ways to “get around,” but vehicular combat isn’t Fortnite’s main game. Though, there has been a shopping cart and an all-terrain kart, but now they’ve announced a new vehicle- the Quadcrasher

The Quadcrasherin an ATV that seats two, with the passenger able to fire their weapon at enemies and the driver having the ability to give the vehicle a shot of adrenaline with a nitrous boost. The bike controls kind of like a tank, but has the ability to smash through obstacles and gets you across any terrain- quickly.

This thing has a ram bar with a mean face and a set of AT tires. Fuse a motorbike with an ATV and put on some funny decals and you’ve got the Quadcrasher. This thing seriously looks like something out of Halo– like the Warthog or something with one person running and the other piloting this bad boy.

You can see the new trailer Epic Games has released for the Quadcrasher here:

KARNAGE shows off Diamond camo in BO4; Treyarch praised

KARNAGE shows off Diamond camo in BO4; Treyarch praised 20

The Diamond camo in BO4 is pure awesome. Treyarch has gone to new heights with the camo by adding a new color-changing effect for every five kills you get without getting killed yourself. The camo turns to various shades of blue, red, and green.

But when you get a color change seven times during a single match, the Diamond camo starts becoming animated into a rainbow effect. This was discovered by KARNAGE, a clan on Black Ops 4.

Here, they show off a Tactical Rifle called the Swordfish:

To get the Diamond camo, you have to land 100 headshots with a weapon to get the basic set, then you’ll unlock the next set. Once all the challenges are unlocked for a set, you’ll get the Gold camo for that weapon. Once you earn the Gold camo for every weapon, you’ll get the legendary Diamond camo for all weapons in that glass.

However, there’s one last camo you can get once you unlock- assuming you can get Diamond for every weapon class. The camo’s called Dark Matter, and this one’s only for the most dedicated players. You can guess how you’ll look just from the name. Do you have a Dark Matter camo already? Let us know in the comments!

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales preview – 37 minutes of gameplay

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales preview - 37 minutes of gameplay 21

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, developed by CD Projekt has released a new gameplay video today. The video showcases 37 minutes of in-game footage showing off more of the game’s playstyle.

The video covers the game’s first act and allows interested players to see both the storyline and the actual gameplay. There are also a few encounters where players can see the turn-based, strategic combat. Over-dubbed commentary by CD Projekt RED Community Manager, Pawel Burza, talks about some of the facts behind the game and guides players through the actual storyline.

Thronebreaker is a single player RPG set in the world of The Witcher. It combines both explorations with narrative-driven puzzles and card battles. Developers that made The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have their own take in this game, which spins on the tale of Meve. Meve is then forced to fight again on a dark journey of destruction and revenge after an invasion in his town.

This game is a spin-off of the popular Witcher series and allows players to explore parts of the world they’ve never seen. Complete with rich characters, explorations, and strategic battles, this is Witcher like you’ve never seen. The game will be available October 23 for PC on GoG.com. A console release for PS4 and Xbox One will follow in December. Currently, pre-orders can be made only through the official site.

Any Witcher fan will surely appreciate this entry- even if it’s not a direct successor to Wild Hunt.

Here’s a description of the video:

The walkthrough focuses on the game’s first act and is rich in both story and exploration gameplay, as well as turn-based card battle combat. The video also features commentary from Paweł Burza (Community Manager), who provides gamers with insight into the world of Thronebreaker.

Tfue destroys all of Tilted in one go; Epic releases hotfix

Tfue destroys all of Tilted in one go; Epic releases hotfix 22

Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney destroyed Tilted Towers in just a few seconds in a viral clip. Epic Games has then released a hotfix to correct the weird bug within the game.

FaZe Clan’s Tfue built a 3-floor build and a ramp next to a  building in Tilted Towers, and then he destroyed the ramp. He was able to destroy the main building in the area. The glitch was likely due to a  recent update Fortnite underwent which made any non-player structures “think” they were created by a player, so they can get destroyed.

He knew what he was doing because he got the bug to work immediately and surprised his many viewers at the same time.

Epic Games released a new update on October 14 to patch this bug:

Bug or not, Epic responded fast and that’s what matters. Keeping an eye on their game shows some form of quality control. You can see the clip here.

Ninja plays Fortnite with Ellen on The Ellen Degeneres Show

Ninja plays Fortnite with Ellen on The Ellen Degeneres Show 24

Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, 27, the most popular Fortnite streamer on Twitch, said he wouldn’t be streaming yesterday as he’s flying over to California. What’s he doing there? He’s a guest on the popular daytime talk show: The Ellen Degeneres Show.

The Fortnite streamer with 3.4M Twitter and 11M Twitch followers made a surprise appearance on the show. Well, actually, it was super undercover as his wife Jessica ‘JGhosty’ Blevins posted a picture on her Instagram that sort of gave the fans the heads up. She posted multiple selfies of her and Ninja on a private jet to California with only the caption that they were “filming something awesome.”

Of course, this rustled up his fanbase (and the internet). It really pays off to be good at something, doesn’t it?

Fans waited a few hours until she posted a photo that showed Ninja’s name on a special dressing room backstage at the show. And then a day later, Ellen had done the interview with Ninja- complete with a video of Ninja playing Fortnite on The Ellen Degeneres Show. They talked about his job briefly. Then the pair sat down for around of Fortnite, with Ellen not getting any kills.

Ninja has also been featured on the cover of ESPN and even played a match of Fortnite with the popular Canadian rapper Drake.

New Blackout trailer released; CoD: Black Ops 4 launches tomorrow

New Blackout trailer released; CoD: Black Ops 4 launches tomorrow 25

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 comes out tomorrow, the 12th of October. With just a single day left in the calendar, the fans are stoked about tomorrow’s launch of the next CoD entry. This one will have no single player campaign and is fully focused on multiplayer. Blacks Ops 4 will also be the first CoD game with a battle royale mode called Blackout.

The latest trailer released for CoD shows off the intense action of Blackout. This mode is apparently the focus of the game and you can definitely see Treyarch put in a lot of their effort. The trailers show a hectic, chaotic war zone with adrenaline-fueled action that just slaps you across the face. Twice. Just watch the trailer and you’ll understand.

CoD’s Blackout mode has gone under many revisions since the beta test back a few months ago. Player counts have increased, FPS has been capped, and much other quality of life improvements like item pickup toggling have been implemented. The focus is on fast-paced combat as 80 players fight to be the last one standing across land, sea, and air. Weapons, throwables, vehicles, and even the radio control car are all shown in the trailer. We also see a flash of grappling hooks and wire traps.

The trailer shows that players will be fighting on the biggest map ever created, complete with character unlocks, perks, and even zombies. Blackout is like everything a player could want packed into a single game, thrown into a blender with steroids, and then lit on fire.

Is the real game actually like this? Probably not. These are all just scenes taken from game footage. There will be slow segments of course, where the game feels like a walking simulator on a such a huge map. Then again, Treyarch has been working hard on this, so who knows how the actual gameplay will be like. But if the actual Blackout mode can meet half of what’s seen in the trailer, we’ll have a very intense battle royale game on our hands. We’ll find out soon.

CoD: BO4 rolls out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC tomorrow.

Fallout 76 stress test October 13-14; See if you’re one of the chosen!

Fallout 76 stress test October 13-14; See if you're one of the chosen! 26

Bethesda announced today that select users on Xbox One will be able to play Fallout 76 starting this weekend.

A server stress test will be conducted in North American servers for Xbox One owners exclusively, which will allow a blessed number of players to explore, tame, and destroy things before the closed beta starts at the end of October.

To get access to this server test, the requirements are that:

  • You’re part of the Xbox Insider program
  • You’ve pre-ordered Fallout 76 on your Xbox One (no surprise)

One of the perks of pre-ordering is the ability to participate in beta tests and server tests like this.

For players who meet the two requirements, all they need to do is log-in to the Xbox Insider Portal this weekend to see if they’ve been selected by Bethesda to stress test the servers. Since it is a stress test, you can be certain that they’ll need a sufficient number of players actually playing the game and doing random things, so there’s a good chance you’ll get access.

Once you’re selected for entry, the official stress test begins October 13th- this Saturday.

As for the closed beta, Fallout 76 will begin on October 23 for those who’ve pre-ordered on Xbox One. Other platforms will be able to start their closed beta sessions on October 30.

Fallout 76 is the next entry into the long-running Fallout series and is the first time players will be able to explore a destroyed world online with other players. The game will have an MMORPG format with shelter building, crafting, and plenty of hunting. Players will be placed in a survival mode as they scavenge for resources and must form alliances- or play it lone wolf style.

And for those who aren’t interested in beta tests or server tests, Fallout 76 rolls out on November 14th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Twitch streamer Johnny_Now locks himself in a cage for 30 days

Twitch streamer Johnny_Now locks himself in a cage for 30 days 27

Twitch streamer Johnny_Now has confined himself to a cage for 30 days. He says that he wants to break his addiction to fast food and unhealthy beverages (soda) and believes that the 30 days locked into a small area will help him break free.

He believes that this will help him “free himself from within,” as he’s also documenting his progress by writing a book titled “Into the Cage: Freeing Yourself Within.”

Physical confinement can surely drive one crazy, but at the same time, there have been historical figures that have been prisoners for extended periods of time and became “cleansed” when released. Although this feat is on a much smaller scale and in a controlled environment (he has an assistant to bring him meals or other necessities and the cage looks like it’s easily broken), this still is pretty impressive for at-will confinement.

Johnny’s profile outlines and details some of his goals:

“I hope I conquer this cage and come out a better, stronger person. But who knows, the cage might easily conquer me.”

“For the next 30 days, I’ll be living in a cage in my living room. This cage will restrain me from my weaknesses, and hopefully help me become a better person.”

He dubs what he’s doing as a “self-improvement” program. He puts on some oven mitts later on and explains how he’s trying to restrain himself- from himself. He notes he’s “addicted to food” and “addicted to sugar.” In other words, he’s a “prisoner to my own desires” and has taken the extreme route of sending himself to prison.

Jonny also plans to change careers and has another adventure up his sleeve after the 30-day challenge. He’s currently on Day 6 of his personal cleansing and will continue. You can watch his stream on Twitch.

Capcom unveils Resident Evil 2 remake costumes, weapons, details

Capcom unveils Resident Evil 2 remake costumes, weapons, details 28

Capcom revealed some details about its upcoming horror game Resident Evil 2 remake. Specifically, Capcom went over some facts about the Digital Deluxe Edition of this remake of one of the most iconic RE games of all time.

This remake was confirmed nearly 3 years ago and has still been in development since them. Capcom showed off some of the first footage during Sony’s E3 presentation. As we inch towards the release date early next year, Capcom has revealed some more details about the game.

Some major differences include a camera over-the-shoulder rather than the static camera that was both annoying and iconic for its time. Tank controls may or may not still be present. The graphics and artwork for the remake are outstanding. They’re true to the original game with familiar scenes yet with tons more detail and effects.

A tweet posted on Capcom’s Twitter account revealed the following details:

The Deluxe Edition will include a special reversible cover with Claire Redfield on one side and Leon Kennedy on the other. There will also be a trio of exclusive costumes for Claire called “Military,” “Noir,” and “Elza Walker.” Leon will have two costumes- “Noir” and “Arklay Sheriff.”

The bundle will also come with the retro soundtrack option to listen to the old, spooky tunes that once (and still) send chills down our youthful spines. Don’t you remember walking into a door but then the “safe room” music plays? You got that sense of relief compared to any of the other dreaded tunes.

And that’s not all. The Deluxe Edition also comes with the Albert Model Samurai Edge gun. You can see the goods on this promo poster:Capcom unveils Resident Evil 2 remake costumes, weapons, details 29

Resident Evil 2 remake rolls out on January 25th, 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The base game and the Deluxe Edition are both currently available for pre-order from most major retailers online.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 “Multiplayer Overview” trailer; Dan Bunting discusses game modes

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 "Multiplayer Overview" trailer; Dan Bunting discusses game modes 30

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will launch this Friday. Fans will finally be able to get ahold of the newest entry into the long-running series of CoD games.

This time around, there will be no single-player campaign and Treyarch has decided to focus on the multiplayer aspect instead. There will also be the first-ever battle royale mode, called Blackout. It’s pretty much Treyarch’s attempt at a battle royale game mode and has seen success in the beta test.

Since then, the mode’s been adjusted multiple times for player count, weapon pickup, and server FPS performance.

Treyarch has already released a ton of promotional trailers for BO4– even one with Post Malone as a cut-out meme pasted into various scenes.

Just today, they released another “Multiplayer Overview” trailer to show off the game’s multiplayer goodness. There’s nothing that we already don’t know, but the video does have the co-studio head at Treyarch, Dan Bunting, talking about the multiplayer modes and gameplay and such. (You can view the trailer at the end of the article.)

Bunting also speaks about the game modes Black Ops 4 will have on launch day- Heist and Control, which were both previewed on the multiplayer beta back in August.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 comes out on October 12th. The game will be available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. You can pre-order it now at any major retailer. Stay tuned for updates on launch day. Also, check out the launch day maps.

Fortnite brings in $1.5M/day in its first 200 days on Apple devices

Fortnite brings in $1.5M/day in its first 200 days on Apple devices 31

Fortnite, the current most popular battle royale game in the world, has done produced some deep profits with its recent iOS release on mobile for Apple devices.

Based on a report from marketing intelligence company Sensor Tower, they’ve concluded that Fortnite on iOS has brought some huge profits- in excess of $300M in the mere 200 days the game has been available on the App Store on March 15th, 2018.

Fortnite brings in $1.5M/day in its first 200 days on Apple devices 32

However, you shouldn’t really be too surprised given the current state of the game. But on mobile, the release had the momentum from the PC’s popularity as a crutch to start the snowball effect, so the PC’s start was likely (a lot) less profitable compared to the mobile version.

Fortnite is completely free-to-play that’s currently available on every modern system and generates cash through in-game purchases of purely cosmetic-only objects. In essence, Epic Games, the developer, makes money by selling virtual goods like pretty much any other game or app on the planet. This is nothing new, but I thought I’d clarify for non-gamers.

Fortnite also has a paid mode called Save the World, but the profits from this don’t hold a candle to regular cosmetic purchases. Players can buy virtual pixels on any platform: PC, iOS, Android, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch using the game’s V-Bucks virtual currency, which can be automatically synced across all systems using the same account.

The report from Sensor Tower shows that Fortnite beat out other games like Clash Royale, Honor of Kings, and Knives Out in its first 200 days. Worldwide players have spent an average of $1.5M per day on iOS alone since the launch and that number increased to $2.5M since Season 6 went live on September 27, 2018. Fortnite is no joke. It’s not even the most popular game in just the battle royale genre- you could say it’s the most popular game in the world.

PlayStation 5 may have backward compatibility; Sony files patent for “Remastering by Emulation”

PlayStation 5 may have backward compatibility; Sony files patent for "Remastering by Emulation" 33

PlayStation hasn’t had backward compatibility for a long time. For over a decade, Sony has been facing flak for removing backward compatibility from the PS3 in later console revisions and eliminated it from their PS4.

Compared to Microsoft, who has had kept the backward compatibility titles in their Xbox One and underwent a backward compatibility software (ongoing) upgrade to even allow original Xbox titles to be played.

However, with the PlayStation 5, this may be all changing and getting Sony back into the game (of running older titles), as reported by Gearnuke.

Various sixth and seventh gen consoles included physical hardware so that older games can be run. PS1 games could be played on a PS2, and PS2 games could be played on older PS3 consoles. Xbox 360 could play some Xbox titles, and Xbox One can play both Xbox 360 and an ongoing list of Xbox games. Nintendo also allows backward compatibility on their Wii and GameCube games.

Digital emulation and backward compatibility are still going strong and players want to play and relive older times or get into the game they couldn’t play before.

Sony filed a patent on October 2nd, 2018 titled “Remastering by Emulation.” The patent summary is as follows:

“Each asset such as a texture called for by legacy software such as a legacy computer game software has a unique identifier associated with it. The unique identifier can be rendered by imposing a hash on the asset, and then the asset stored with its identifier in a data structure. An artist remasters the textures for presentation on a higher resolution display than envisioned in the original software, and stores them back in the data structure with their identifiers. The original software is then played on the higher resolution display, with asset (such as texture) calls being intercepted, identified, and the data structure entered to retrieve the remastered asset having a matching identifier. The remastered asset is then inserted on the fly into the game presentation.”

TL;DR: Sony is playing around with running legacy titles on a newer system via digital emulation rather than hardware parts. This easily jets the idea of backward compatibility.

Previous generation game enhancement or not, the PS4 Pro has enhanced titles that allow for better graphics, resolution, or FPS. They’re catching up to Microsoft, which has been emulation games for quite a while now. Digital emulation is how most games backward compatible now, rather than having the hardware available to run older titles, it’s all done by software.

Sony doesn’t seem to be doing anything new, but rather jumping on the bandwagon and keeping their PS5 competitive by going retro. Remasters don’t appear to factor into the next gen consoles as much as they have with current systems.

Recent games that already look pretty don’t need to be upscaled, or rather, the difference would be minuscule. Older titles are an exception. So what we can expect is older titles to be modernized, and modern titles to look the same as they are. It really depends on the age of the game and the tech utilized at the point of release.

Nonetheless, the PS5 will likely have backward compatibility via emulation to add to its feature list, which makes it competitive that much more. Every feature counts.

Overwatch “Spider Windowmaker” skin leaked

Overwatch "Spider Windowmaker" skin leaked 34

Overwatch’s Windowmaker has a new Halloween skin. And it’s something that you’d feel like should’ve been implemented a long, long time ago.

It looks very similar to her default skin, but it has some spider webbing leggings and some darker, ominous colors over her outfit and rifle. Her skin is a delicious, yet deadly combination of purple, black, and various shades of silver entangled into a web of chaos. The skin really does fit her name.

The skin was leaked on a video posted to the Xbox Facebook page before any official word from Blizzard’s account was posted. The skin has been dubbed the Spider Widowmaker. No word on whether the skin will be Legendary or just Epic so far, but the buzzing community has debated that it’ll likely be available in the Hero Gallery as a mere Epic.

Overwatch’s Halloween Terror event begins on October 9th until the end of the month. Leaks have been revealed for a few Heros, such as Doomfist, Moira, and the now-unveiled Windowmaker.

Dead or Alive 6: Bass, Mila, and Tina back as pro wrestlers; New map “The Muscle”

Dead or Alive 6: Bass, Mila, and Tina back as pro wrestlers; New map "The Muscle" 37

Koei Tecmo announced today that a trio of older characters will be returning to the join the roster in Dead or Alive 6, the much-anticipated fighting game with very attractive “visuals.”

They announced the return of Bass, Tina, and Mila in a press release accompanied by a trailer. Their press release is here:

“Known as “The King of the Ring,” Bass is a seasoned professional wrestler known for his destructive power and versatile throwing techniques. He’s also the doting father of Tina, “The Superstar of a Thousand Dreams.” And while Tina flashes some of the same versatile throws as her father; including an explosive new slam added to her repertoire, she is also proficient in strikes as Bass trains her to become the top wrestler in the world. But, Tina isn’t the only female ready to fight in DEAD OR ALIVE 6; as professional wrestling fan, Mila, has also been added to the line-up. Nicknamed “The Hot-Blooded Champ,” Mila is a mixed-martial artist known for winning titles as a result of tackling techniques and her expertise in the ground-and-pound game that she hopes will prove fruitful in her quest to ultimately takedown her long-time rival, Bass.”

And a new level called “The Muscle” has been announced. The map is themed as a professional wrestling organization’s arena which matches the return of the characters. So they’re all tied together in a way. To add some flare, the ropes are powered by electricity. And there are flaming pillars to boot.

There was a small teaser released earlier this week which may have had fans speculating other characters rather than these, but with Tecmo’s press release, this should calm some nerves. I expect more news about Dead or Alive 6 coming next week as multiple trailers are now being released alongside some screenshots.

Nytotengu will also be a pre-order goodie and Phase 4 will come with the Digital Deluxe edition of DOA6. There will also be a special event hosted called the Dead or Alive Festival 2018 which takes place next month dedicated to the game.

DOA6 rolls out on February 15th, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

CoD: BO4’s Blackout Mode gets a new option for picking up items

CoD: BO4's Blackout Mode gets a new option for picking up items 38

Call of Duty: Blacks Ops 4′s Blackout Mode (the battle royale mode) has been changed slightly. This isn’t the first time it’s been changed. Ever since the player feedback from the successful beta, the game has evolved to meet player demand and to balance the game.

Blackout Mode is CoD’s take on the battle royale mode which many games are jumping upon the bandwagon. Players will be dropped onto a map and compete to be the last one standing. The mode includes all maps from previous CoD games and combines them all into one giant map. A few revisions have been made since the beta that took place from September 10-17th. Player counts increased and several balancing issues were addressed.

Previously, players would have to hold the item pickup button in order to add a new item to their inventory. This was annoying since players would have to stop and stare at an item to pick it up, which wastes valuable time and makes you vulnerable to enemy fire. Now, instead of holding down the button, you can now have the option to simply press it instead to grab loot, but you won’t reload your weapon.

This comes from Game Design Director at Treyarch, David Vonderhaar, who posted a tweet on his Twitter account with an image showing off the new item swap option. He lets players know that this means reloading while looking at items isn’t possible if it’s toggled on:

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 rolls out on October 12th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen DLC Pack free on 10/9; New maps, weapons, modes

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen DLC Pack free on 10/9; New maps, weapons, modes 39

XCOM 2 will be getting a new, free DLC content pack next week that’s literally packed with new content. XCOM 2 and its expansion XCOM 2: War of the Chosen – Tactical Legacy Pack will be free on October 9th, 2018 for gamers who own the base game. But it’s not free forever- on December 3rd, the DLC will be had for $7.99. So act fast!

War of the Chosen – Tactical Legacy Pack will include three new gameplay modes: Legacy Ops, Resistance Archives, and Skirmish. Legacy Ops is the connection between XCOM: Enemy Uknown and XCOM 2, which takes place 20 years in the future where an alien threat has broken out.

Here’s a video showing off the pack:

Legacy Ops includes 5 missions where you control Central officer Bradford, Lily Shen, and other XCOM personnel as you wade through mission and defeat hordes of aliens hungry to eat you up. This mode will have no base management and is a combat only mode.

Resistance Archives will be somewhat of the same, but with missions that get harder and harder each time you beat them. And Skirmish mode sounds exactly like what it reads- you can “create and play your own custom XCOM tactical missions using the included editor that allows you to modify various settings (map, squad loadouts, objective, enemies, and more.)”

There will also be new maps in the Central Archives mission alongside these new game modes. The developers are remasting several battlefields from the 2012 XCOM: Enemy Uknown and its expansion Enemy Within. Weapons and armor will also be included in the mission. After you complete the mission in Legacy Ops, you can use the weapons and armor in the base game.

There will also be new helmets, soldier attitudes, and photobooth options. There will also be new soundtrack options that includes tracks from the previous game and a new UFO Defense-like track. Lastly, there will be an Offline Challenge Mode that allows players to fight in any of the game’s 100+ War of the Chosen challenges as often as you want to play them again.

Stay tuned for updates.
